Can Someone Else Write Your IGNOU Assignment?

No. The 2026-27 assignment booklets say the answers must be in the learner’s own hand. BPCG-171 and MPC-001 both print “Do not print or type the answers”, BEGAE-182 says “You should submit the assignment in your own handwriting”, and the MLIS booklet for MLI-101 says typed and computer-printed assignments are not permissible. BPCG-171 also asks you to write every answer “in your own words”, and both psychology booklets give zero marks for a copied answer. The one exception in IGNOU’s rules is for learners with disabilities: the Common Prospectus July 2026 (section 14.7) allows students with a valid disability certificate to submit typed assignments.

So the right way to use a handwritten set from us is as a finished model of your own TMA. Four 2026-27 Booklets, Four Sets of Format Rules

IGNOU does not print one format for every course. Each course’s assignment booklet carries its own instructions, and they differ on paper size, margin and word limits. Download your own booklet from IGNOU’s assignments page (search your course code and check the Valid for Session column) and follow it over any general advice, ours included.

None of the four booklets says anything about writing on one side or both sides of a sheet. What they do fix is the word count, and that is where students lose the most effort.

The booklets point the other way. BPCG-171 asks you to “make sure that the answer is around the suggested word limit”, MPC-001 asks for answers “within the approximate range of the word-limit”, and BEGAE-182 asks that an answer does not exceed the number of words given. Our sets follow IGNOU’s word-limit guidance.

IGNOU Assignment Last Date 2026-27 and the Final-Month Rush

The booklets print fixed dates. BEGAE-182 gives 31 March for the June examination and 30 September for the December examination, and the 2026-27 psychology and MLIS booklets give 31 March 2027 for July 2026 learners and 30 September 2027 for January 2027 learners. A later date applies only when IGNOU’s Student Evaluation Division issues an extension notice for that cycle, and for the December 2026 term-end examination it has posted an SED extension notice for assignments (PDF): open it for the exact date before you plan around it.

Submission is not optional. The Common Prospectus July 2026 lists “required number of assignments in the courses have been submitted by due date” among the conditions for sitting the term-end examination, and says results of courses that miss a condition are liable to be withheld. Our sets take 7 to 9 working days to reach you, and you still need time to write your own, so order at least 15 to 20 days before your last date.

What Goes on the Front Page?

The fields are printed in your booklet, and the layout differs by course. BEGAE-182 asks for enrolment number, name, full address and date at the top right, with the course title, assignment number and study centre in the centre. The MLIS booklet puts the programme, course, assignment number and study centre on the left-hand corner and warns that assignments not in its format may not be evaluated. MPC-001 also asks for your signature on the title page.

Submission Day: Get the Receipt, Keep a Photocopy

The booklets list what to do at the counter:

1. Submit to the Coordinator of the study centre allotted to you (BPCG-171). MPC-001 adds that response sheets must not be sent to the Student Evaluation Division at headquarters.
2. Obtain a receipt for the assignments submitted and retain it (BPCG-171, MPC-001, BEGAE-182).
3. Keep a photocopy of what you hand in (BPCG-171, MPC-001; BEGAE-182 says keep a copy).
4. Attach a copy of the TMA question paper to the completed assignment (BPCG-171).
5. Write each course’s assignment separately, never several courses in one file (MPC-001), and tie all pages carefully (BPCG-171, MPC-001).

If assignment marks do not appear later, the Prospectus lists [email protected] for queries related to assignment marks, so keep the receipt where you can find it.
