IGNOU MBAMM Project Hard Copy: Printed MMPP-001 Reference Sets

This category holds printed, posted reference sets for MMPP-001, the eight-credit project course taken by IGNOU MBA in Marketing Management (MBAMM) students in Semester 3. Each set is a physical sample of a completed marketing synopsis and project report, dispatched to your postal address. It is study reference material. It is not a submission-ready document with your name on it, and it is not sold as one.

The page is written for MBAMM students who have already registered MMPP-001 and want to see, on paper, what an accepted-standard marketing report looks like before writing their own. If you have not yet reached that stage, or you only need something to read on screen, the format guide further down will point you to the right place in one step.

Which of the three formats do you actually need?

Most people who land on a hard copy page are in one of three different situations, and only one of them is served by this category. The printed set suits a student who is writing their own MBAMM report and wants a physical model to work beside. A student who only wants to scan structure quickly is better served by the soft copy category. A student who needs original work built around their own topic and organisation needs a made-to-order service, not a reference sample.

The distinction matters more on this page than on most, because a printed set involves a dispatch and a postal address. Choosing the wrong format costs you days you may not have.

MMPP-001 identity check for MBAMM students

MMPP-001 is the single project course for the IGNOU MBA and all four of its specialisations, including MBAMM. It carries eight credits and is treated as equivalent to two courses, though it is registered as one. The earlier code for the same course was MS-100, and both codes still circulate in older documents and on competitor pages.

Where MMPP-001 sits in the MBAMM course structure

MMPP-001 is registered in Semester 3 of MBAMM, alongside MMPC-015 Research Methodology for Management Decisions and MMPC-016 International Business Management. That pairing is deliberate and useful. The research methodology course is taught in the same semester in which you are expected to design your own study, so the methodology section of your synopsis is not meant to be guesswork.

MBAMM runs to 28 courses and 116 credits: nineteen core courses of four credits each, eight marketing specialisation courses of four credits each, and the eight-credit project course. The marketing specialisation courses carry the MMPM prefix and include Consumer Behaviour, Sales Management, Product and Brand Management, Marketing of Services, International Marketing, Marketing Research, Integrated Marketing Communication, Rural Marketing and Retail Management.

One fee detail is worth knowing before Semester 3 begins. The programme fee for MBAMM is Rs 16,000 per semester for the first, second and fourth semesters, and Rs 18,000 for the third. The prospectus states the reason plainly: the third semester carries the eight-credit project. Students who budget a flat per-semester figure are sometimes caught out by this, and the shortfall arrives at exactly the moment they are also arranging a guide.

Why the printed form matters for a submission you cannot take back

The MMPP-001 project report is a one-way submission. You send a single typed copy in a bound volume, and the guidelines instruct you to retain a copy for yourself, because the report submitted to the University is not returned after evaluation. There is no second copy coming back with comments on it.

Two further rules make this harder to undo than students expect. The University’s re-evaluation provision covers term-end theory papers only, and explicitly does not extend to project reports. The improvement-in-division provision is limited to theory papers as well, and names projects among the components where improvement is not permitted. Taken together, the bound volume you post is the version that is assessed.

This is the practical case for working beside a printed model rather than a screen. When the finished artefact is a physical bound document that cannot be recalled, amended or re-marked, comparing your own draft against a physical document tends to surface the things a scroll view hides: pages that do not match the table of contents, exhibits that break across a page turn, a questionnaire annexure that was never paginated.

What your MMPP-001 guide must be, in marketing specifically

A guide qualifies through any one of four routes, and for an MBAMM topic the relevant experience must be in marketing. The guidelines make this point using marketing as their own worked example, which is unusual and worth reading closely if you are an MBAMM student.

The four eligibility routes are: management faculty in the School of Management Studies at Headquarters; any approved Academic Counsellor of the Management Programme with relevant experience at a Study Centre; management faculty with five years of postgraduate teaching experience; or a professional holding a master’s degree in management or an allied discipline with at least five years of experience in the relevant area. The document then states directly that if you are taking up a marketing topic, the supervisor should have five years of experience in the marketing area after their master’s. Guides are separately asked to restrict their supervision to their own core specialisation.

Two operational limits attach to this. A guide may not supervise more than five MMPP-001 students at any one time, and the proforma asks the supervisor to state that number, so a guide already at the ceiling is a problem discovered at submission rather than later. Unless your guide is an approved counsellor, a detailed bio-data signed in original by the guide must travel with your synopsis, and a synopsis arriving without it will not be entertained.

Marketing synopsis readiness gate

This is a practical readiness check, not a University rule. It exists because an MBAMM synopsis rarely fails on writing quality. It fails because the study described cannot actually be carried out by the person describing it. Work down the gate in order. If a step is not yet true, fix it before moving on, because every later step depends on it.

GateMust be true before you proceedIf it is not true yet
1. RegistrationMMPP-001 is registered on your current enrolment number, and if you took re-admission, approval has been sought afresh on the new numberSort the enrolment number first. Approval held on an old number can stop the report being accepted
2. Reachable respondentsYou can name the specific group you will actually collect from, and you have a realistic route to themNarrow the population until it is one you can reach. A marketing study stands or falls on respondent access
3. Neutral objectivesEvery objective is stated without assuming what you will find, using verbs such as to study, to explore, to analyse or to investigateRewrite any objective that already contains its own conclusion. Neutral phrasing is an explicit requirement
4. Instrument tied to objectivesEach questionnaire section maps to a stated objective, and you can say which objective it servesCut or rewrite items that serve no objective. The methodology must state the relevance of the tools to the objectives
5. Sampling rationaleYou can justify both the organisation chosen and the sample drawn, not merely describe themWrite the rationale before the sample size. The guidelines ask for the rationale of the chosen organisation and the sample
6. Matched guideYour guide meets one of the four routes with marketing-area experience, is below the five-student ceiling, and has signed the proforma and bio-data with datesChange the guide now rather than later. A change after submission is treated as an entirely new proposal
7. Title you can live withThe title is the one you intend to keep, because the final report must carry the approved titleSettle the title before sending. No changes can be made when the final report is submitted

Gate seven is the one that catches people. Students often treat the synopsis title as provisional and expect to sharpen it once the data is in. The guidelines are explicit that the final project report must be on the title approved by the evaluator, with no changes at submission.

The four documents that must be bound into your report

Before binding, your MMPP-001 report must contain the approved Project Proposal Proforma, the approved proposal itself, the guide’s bio-data, and a Certificate of Originality signed and dated by both you and your guide. A report received without any one of these is returned to the student for compliance.

One detail is easy to get wrong at the printing shop. The approved proposal must be properly bound into the project, not stapled in. The guidelines state that a project with a stapled proposal will not be accepted. If you are having the volume bound commercially, say this to the binder explicitly, because loose insertion of a proposal at the front is a common shortcut.

Alongside those four, the report must carry a cover page showing your name, enrolment number, the guide’s name and the project title, and a detailed table of contents with page numbers that match the numbering used throughout.

What the Certificate of Originality actually commits you to

The Certificate of Originality is a signed declaration that the report is your own original work and has not been submitted earlier to IGNOU or to any other University or institution. Your guide signs it too. This is the single most important reason a purchased sample cannot become your submission.

Read the sentence as an evaluator would. A report that has previously been submitted anywhere fails the declaration on its face, regardless of how well it is written. The University also states that the project report should be free from plagiarism, and that where a report is found to be plagiarised, action follows the University’s own policy. Every set sold in this category is therefore sold as reference material: something to study for structure, argument and exhibit handling, and to write your own work from.

We do not promise approval, and no honest seller can. Approval rests with a Regional Centre evaluator who reads the proposal on its merits. What a printed reference set can do is shorten the distance between a blank page and a competent first draft.

Result windows, the project fee and what happens after you post

The MMPP-001 project report may be submitted at any time during the year. The two dates that circulate widely are result windows, not deadlines. A report submitted between 1 December and 31 May has its result declared with the June term-end examinations. A report submitted between 1 June and 30 November has its result declared with the December term-end examinations.

On the fee, University policy from the January 2023 admission cycle onwards sets project fees at Rs 500 per course. The prospectus adds the practical detail: the Rs 500 project evaluation fee is submitted along with the term-end examination form for the semester in which you intend to submit the project report, and the amount may change from time to time by decision of the University. Keep this separate in your mind from the Rs 500 token honorarium the University pays your guide. The two figures are identical and unrelated.

When your report reaches the Student Evaluation Division, a PR number is allotted. Quote that number in any later correspondence with the Registrar (SED) about the report. Evaluation for the project course rests on the report alone, with no assignment or term-end paper component. A viva-voce is held only where the evaluator recommends one, and you would be intimated if so.

How to use a printed reference set well

A reference set earns its place when you read it against your own draft rather than instead of writing one. Three passes work better than one. Read first for skeleton: how the introduction moves into the literature review and then into the organisation details, and where the rationale sits.

Read second for the methodology section, which is where most MBAMM reports are thinnest. Look at how the sampling rationale is argued, how reliability and validity of the tools are handled, and how the questionnaire is tied back to each objective. Read third for the results chapter, watching how tables and charts are introduced, interpreted and then carried into the summary. Interpretation, not presentation, is what the structure asks for.

Keep your own topic in front of you throughout. The closer a sample is to your topic, the stronger the temptation to borrow phrasing, and the higher the risk to a declaration you will have to sign.

Questions MBAMM students ask about the printed MMPP-001 set

Is the IGNOU MBAMM project the same as MMPP-001?

Yes. MBAMM is the programme code for the IGNOU MBA in Marketing Management, and MMPP-001 is the project course taken within it. The same MMPP-001 course applies to MBA, MBAFM, MBAHM, MBAMM, MBAOM and MBF. There is no separate marketing-only project course code.

What is MS-100 and does it still apply to me?

MS-100 is the earlier code for the same project course, now revised to MMPP-001. The guidelines refer to it as the project course earlier known as MS-100 and revised to MMPP-001. Use MMPP-001 on your proforma and on your envelope. If an older document you are holding says MS-100, it is describing the same course.

In which semester do MBAMM students take MMPP-001?

Semester 3. The programme structure places two core courses, four marketing specialisation courses and the project course in that semester. This is also why the third semester fee is higher than the other three.

Can I submit a purchased MBAMM report as my own?

No. The Certificate of Originality you must sign states that the report is your original work and has not been submitted earlier to IGNOU or any other University or institution. A purchased sample cannot satisfy that declaration. The sets in this category are reference material for writing your own report.

How many copies of the project report do I send?

One. The guidelines instruct you to send a single copy of the project report and retain a copy with you, because the copy submitted to the University is not returned after evaluation. Keep a complete duplicate of everything you post, including the bound annexures.

Can I get my MMPP-001 report re-evaluated if I am unhappy with the result?

No. The re-evaluation provision applies to term-end theory examination scripts, and the University states there is no provision for re-evaluation of project reports. The improvement-in-division route is also limited to theory papers and specifically excludes projects. This is why the draft stage deserves more attention than students usually give it.

Is 31 May a deadline for submitting the MMPP-001 report?

No. The report may be submitted at any time through the year. The 31 May and 30 November dates mark which term-end result cycle your report is declared with, not a cut-off after which submission is refused.

Where does the MBAMM synopsis go, and where does the report go?

They go to two different offices. The synopsis goes to the Regional Director of your own Regional Centre, with MMPP-001 written prominently on the envelope. The completed project report goes to the Registrar (SED), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi 110068, with PROJECT REPORT-MMPP-001 on the envelope. Sending the synopsis to headquarters is a common and costly mistake.

How long does synopsis approval take?

Written communication on approval or non-approval is sent within two to three months of the proposal reaching the Regional Centre. Submit the proposal after registering MMPP-001 and reasonably early in the semester. Where a proposal reaches the Regional Centre more than six months after registration, the Centre does not hold itself responsible for timely disposal.

What happens if my MBAMM proposal is not approved?

You resubmit. The revised proposal must go with a fresh Project Proposal Proforma, a copy of the rejected proposal and proforma carrying the evaluator’s comments, and the Project Proposal number allotted by your Regional Centre. Read the comments carefully, because they tell you what the evaluator wants changed.

Do I need a viva for my MBAMM project?

Only if the evaluator recommends one. A viva-voce is not a standard step for every MMPP-001 student. Where one is required, the University intimates the student.

What subject area do I write on the MBAMM proforma?

Marketing, for a marketing topic. The proforma lists HRM and OB, Accounting and Finance, Operations Management and Information System, Marketing, Corporate Management, and Any Other. The subject area should follow the topic you have chosen, so an MBAMM student working on consumer behaviour or brand management writes Marketing.

Can I change my guide after the proposal is approved?

You can, but it is not a minor amendment. A change of guide requires the project proposal to be submitted again on a new proforma with the new guide’s signature, and it is treated as a new proposal. The same applies where the faculty does not approve the guide you originally named.

How do I check the status of my submitted MMPP-001 report?

Contact the Assistant Registrar (SED) at IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi 110068, by email at [email protected] or on 011-29571324 and 011-29571321, quoting the PR number allotted when your report was received. Approval of the proposal is a separate matter and stays with your Regional Director.

Do MBA (Online) learners use this postal route?

No. MBA (Online) students submit both the synopsis and the project report through the LMS Portal. The posted bound volume route described on this page applies to ODL students of MBA, MBAFM, MBAHM, MBAMM, MBAOM and MBF.
