This category holds printed, bound reference sets of the IGNOU MBAOM project report and synopsis for MMPP-001, the eight credit project course that MBA (Operations Management) students register in Semester 3. It is for the student who has decided to work in print: someone who wants to see how a finished operations project is laid out on paper, how the approved proposal sits inside the bound volume, and how tables, process charts and layout schematics behave once they leave a screen. If you are still choosing a topic or writing the synopsis, the IGNOU MBAOM project guidance and soft copy page is the better starting point.

What an IGNOU MBAOM Printed Reference Set Contains
Each set in this category is a printed MMPP-001 operations project report together with the matching synopsis, supplied as a physical reference for a student who is building their own. Seeing a completed operations project in bound form answers questions that no format guide answers: how much page a process flow chart really takes, where a questionnaire sits relative to the analysis chapters, how a table of downtime figures reads when it is not scrollable, and what a fifty to sixty page double spaced volume actually feels like in the hand.
These are reference materials from an independent publisher. They are not IGNOU publications, they are not pre-approved by any Regional Centre, and they carry no standing with an evaluator. Submitting a reference report as your own work is a plagiarism risk and IGNOU acts on plagiarism under its own policy. The honest use of a printed set is as a worked example beside which you draft your own MBAOM study. The MBA printed projects category sets out the different ways students use a reference set and the risk attached to each.

The Sentence in the Guidelines That Changes How You Print
The MMPP-001 guidelines state that the project report submitted to the University will not be returned to the student after evaluation, and that you should send only one copy and retain a copy with you. Almost nobody reads that line before printing, and it is the single most consequential instruction on the whole page for a student working in hard copy. Once your bound volume goes into the post to Maidan Garhi, it is gone. There is no collection counter, no return despatch, and no digital archive you can request a scan from.
That has three practical consequences for an MBAOM student. Your own retained copy is the only version of your operations study you will ever hold again, so it needs to be a real bound copy and not a loose stack in a folder. Any signature that exists in original on the submitted copy exists nowhere else, so your retained copy needs its own signed set or clean photocopies. And anything you agreed with a plant or a warehouse about what could appear in print is now permanent, because the University keeps the volume that contains it.
How Many Printed Copies an MBAOM Student Actually Needs
The guidelines specify one copy to each destination and a retained copy for the student. The table below turns that into a printing plan, marking what the University requires against what is practical rather than mandatory. Read the third column carefully, because original signatures are the most common reason a report comes back for compliance.
| Printed copy | Where it ends up | What has to be original in it | Do you get it back |
|---|---|---|---|
| Synopsis, copy one | Regional Director of your own Regional Centre, envelope marked MMPP-001 | Proforma for Approval signed and dated by you and your guide, and the guide bio-data signed in original | No. The Regional Centre retains it and allots a Project Proposal number |
| Synopsis, copy two | Your own file. The guidelines advise retaining a copy | Nothing. A clear photocopy is sufficient | It never leaves you, and it is what you work from later |
| Project report, copy one | Registrar (SED), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi 110068, envelope marked PROJECT REPORT-MMPP-001 | Certificate of Originality signed and dated by you and your guide, plus the approved proposal, approved proforma and guide bio-data bound in rather than stapled | No. The guidelines state it will not be returned after evaluation |
| Project report, copy two | Your own shelf, bound to the same specification | Its own signed set, or legible photocopies of every signed page | Yes. This becomes the only copy of your MMPP-001 study that you hold |
| Project report, copy three | Your guide, or the organisation that opened its operations data to you | Nothing. This is a courtesy copy, not a University requirement | Not applicable. It is often what secures access in the first place |
Two of these five are University requirements and the rest are judgement. The instruction that trips students most often is not about count at all: the approved proposal has to be bound into the report and a report with a stapled proposal will not be accepted. Get that wrong and the binder has to be opened again.
Ask which MBAOM printed set fits your topic
Getting Operations Data Into a Volume the University Keeps
Operations projects fail at the printing stage more often than finance or marketing projects do, because the data an MBAOM study needs is the data a plant is least willing to see permanently recorded. Output volumes, per unit costs, rejection rates by line, supplier lead times and downtime logs are all competitively sensitive. A works manager who was relaxed about you looking at a dashboard becomes cautious the moment you explain that the figures will appear in a bound volume held by a University and never returned.
The good news is that almost every sensitive operations figure can be transformed into a form the organisation accepts while the analysis survives intact. Indexing, ratio conversion and anonymised labelling do not weaken an MMPP-001 study, because the guidelines ask for results presented in tabular or graphical format with the interpretation given elaborately. Interpretation of an indexed series is exactly as rigorous as interpretation of an absolute one.
Presenting Sensitive MBAOM Operations Data in a Printed Report
This table is practical guidance built on the MMPP-001 requirements, not a University rule. Work down it before you agree what you will collect, not after you have collected it.
| Operations data you collected | Why the organisation hesitates to see it printed | Presentation that keeps the analysis intact | What the report must still show |
|---|---|---|---|
| Daily or monthly output volumes | Discloses installed capacity to competitors | Index the series to a base month set at 100 and plot the index | The base period, and a line in methodology stating the series is indexed |
| Cost per unit or cost of poor quality | Discloses margin | Express as a percentage of total manufacturing cost for the same period | The ratio definition and the denominator used |
| Rejection or rework rate by line | Identifies a named line, shift or supervisor | Label the lines A, B and C, and state that the labels are anonymised | The number of lines and the basis on which they were grouped |
| Supplier names with prices and lead times | Contract confidentiality | Supplier 1 to Supplier n, described by sector and distance band | Sample size and the rationale for choosing that set of suppliers |
| Breakdown and downtime logs | Discloses equipment reliability to the machine supplier | Report availability as a percentage and downtime per 1,000 running hours | The observation window and how downtime was defined |
| Inventory holding and stockout counts | Discloses the working capital position | Convert to inventory turns and days of cover | The formula used and the valuation basis |
| Plant or warehouse layout drawing | Site security | A schematic that is not to scale, with dimensions removed | Relative positions of stations and the direction of material flow |
| Time study at individual operator level | Identifies individuals | Aggregate to workstation level with a stated minimum group size | The number of observations and the sampling method |
Ask for written permission before you print, not after
A short letter or email from the organisation confirming what may appear in a submitted academic report costs nothing and settles the question permanently. Ask for it while you are still collecting, when the relationship is warmest. Students who leave it until the binder is quoted almost always end up cutting exhibits at the last minute, which damages the results chapter far more than an indexed table ever would.
Declare the transformation in your methodology chapter
An evaluator reading indexed output figures with no explanation may read it as vagueness. The same figures introduced by a methodology sentence saying that production volumes have been indexed to a base month at the request of the participating organisation read as professional handling of confidential data. The MMPP-001 methodology section already asks for the nature and source of data and the rationale of the chosen organisation and sample, so there is a natural place for it.
What Printing Reveals That a Screen File Hides
MBAOM reports are the most diagram dense of the five specialisations, and diagrams are where the gap between screen and paper is widest. A process flow that reads comfortably at a hundred and fifty per cent zoom can arrive on A-4 with six point labels. A control chart that relies on colour to separate two series becomes a single grey tangle on an office laser printer. A Gantt or network diagram laid out landscape can lose its left hand column into the gutter once the volume is bound.
Working from a printed reference set removes the guesswork, because you can see the decisions already resolved: which exhibits were sized to fit a page, which were rotated, which were pushed to the annexures. It is also worth running a single test print of your own results chapter, on the same paper you will use, before you commit to a full print run. Double spacing throughout means the page count moves quickly, and the fifty to sixty page guidance is easier to plan for once you have a real sample in front of you.
Where Each MBAOM Document Goes
The synopsis and the project report go to two different offices, and mixing them up is the most expensive mistake an MBAOM student can make with a physical submission. The synopsis, together with the signed Proforma for Approval and the guide bio-data, goes to the Regional Director of your own Regional Centre. The completed project report goes as one bound volume to the Registrar (SED) at Maidan Garhi. Nothing in the MMPP-001 guidelines routes the synopsis to headquarters, although several third party pages say it does.
Approval questions go back to your own Regional Director. Status questions about a submitted report go to the Assistant Registrar (SED), quoting the PR number allotted when the report was received. Approval of the proposal is communicated in writing within two to three months of receipt at the Regional Centre. The full stage by stage procedure, including what to do after a non-approval, is set out on the MMPP-1 printed project category rather than repeated here.
Are You on the Right Page
This category attracts a good deal of traffic from students who need something else. Four quick checks will save you a wasted order.
- You are an MBAOL student, meaning MBA Online. Online MBA learners submit both the synopsis and the project report through the LMS portal. You do not post a bound volume anywhere, so a printed reference set is optional rather than useful.
- You want a file you can open today. Printed sets are despatched physically. The MBAOM soft copy category is the one to use instead.
- You are still deciding on a topic or an MMPO course anchor. Topic selection, feasibility and course anchoring for operations projects are covered on the MBAOM guidance page linked above, not here.
- You need study material for the taught operations courses. MMPO courses are taught courses with their own material. See MBA new syllabus books, solved assignments and guess papers.
Ordering, Despatch and Support
Choose the MBAOM title below that sits closest to your own subject area, complete the order, and the printed report and synopsis are despatched to your postal address. If you are unsure whether a particular title is close enough to your approved topic to be useful as a reference, ask before ordering rather than after. Sending a photograph of your approved proforma is usually the fastest way to get a straight answer, because the approved title fixes what your report has to cover.
Check availability and despatch
If the difficulty is with your own operations data rather than with the format, that is a different conversation. Questions about how to present downtime figures, how to anonymise lines or suppliers, or how to convert absolute costs into ratios without losing the argument are worth raising before you write the results chapter.
Discuss your operations data and methodology
Students who want a study written to their own approved title, rather than a reference set, should look at our customised project service on our sister site. You can also reach us through the contact page.
Using a Printed Reference Set Honestly
A reference set is a worked example, and its value is in the structure and the presentation rather than in the content. Read how the objectives were phrased in neutral terms, how the sampling rationale was justified, how the results chapter moves from table to interpretation, and how the annexures were organised. Then build your own study on your own organisation and your own data.
IGNOU requires the project report to be free from plagiarism and to be the student’s own work, and it acts on plagiarism as per University policy. A report reused from a reference set is also a poor bet on its own terms, because the title on your submitted report must match the title approved by your evaluator, and no changes are permitted at submission. Shri Chakradhar Publication Private Limited makes no claim of approval, acceptance or grade outcome for any material sold here.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the MBAOM project course code different from the general MBA one?
No. MMPP-001 is the single project course for ODL students of MBA, MBAFM, MBAHM, MBAMM, MBAOM and MBF. What changes with MBAOM is the subject matter of your study and the Subject Area you write on the proforma, not the code.
Does IGNOU return my project report after evaluation?
No. The guidelines state plainly that the project report submitted to the University will not be returned to the student after evaluation, and advise you to retain a copy. Plan your print run on that basis.
How many copies of the MMPP-001 report do I send?
One. Send only one typed copy of the project report to the Registrar (SED) and keep a copy for yourself. The same applies to the synopsis: one copy to your Regional Centre, one retained.
Can the approved proposal be stapled into the report?
No. The approved proposal, approved proforma and guide bio-data must be properly bound into the project and not just stapled. A project with a stapled proposal will not be accepted, so this has to be settled with your binder before the volume is closed.
What do I write in the Subject Area box on the proforma?
For most MBAOM topics, Operations Management and Information System. The proforma offers HRM and OB, Accounting and Finance, Operations Management and Information System, Marketing, Corporate Management, and Any Other. The subject area should follow the topic you have actually chosen.
Which MMPO course should my operations topic sit on?
Whichever one matches the data you can realistically obtain. MMPO-001, MMPO-002, MMPO-005 and MMPO-006 sit in Semester 3 with the project itself, while MMPO-003, MMPO-004, MMPO-007 and MMPO-008 sit in Semester 4. Course anchoring is covered in full on the MBAOM guidance page.
Is a printed reference set approved by IGNOU?
No. Nothing sold by an independent publisher carries approval from IGNOU, a Regional Centre or an evaluator. Approval attaches to your own synopsis, on your own enrolment number, after evaluation at your Regional Centre. Treat any page promising otherwise with caution.
Is there a last date for submitting the MMPP-001 project report?
No. The report can be submitted at any time during the year. The 31 May and 30 November dates that circulate as deadlines are result window boundaries: they determine whether your result appears with the June or the December term end examinations, not whether your report is accepted.
What fee applies to the MMPP-001 project?
Project evaluation fees from the January 2023 admission cycle onwards are Rs 500 per course for a course above four credits, and MMPP-001 carries eight credits. This is separate from the Rs 500 token honorarium the University pays your guide, which is not something you pay.
Do MBAOL students post a printed report?
No. MBA (Online) learners submit both the synopsis and the project report through the LMS portal. The postal route to the Registrar (SED) applies to ODL students.
What should be written on the envelope?
MMPP-001 prominently on the synopsis envelope going to your Regional Director, and PROJECT REPORT-MMPP-001 on the envelope carrying the bound report to the Registrar (SED). The marking is what lets the Student Evaluation Division sort project reports across programmes.
My maximum duration has expired. What happens to my approval?
The maximum duration of MBAOM is 48 months. If it has expired you need re-admission before sending the synopsis, and if your synopsis was approved on the earlier enrolment number, approval has to be sought again on the new one. Failing to do so can mean the project report is not accepted.
How long does synopsis approval take?
Written communication about approval or non-approval is sent within two to three months of the proposal reaching the Regional Centre. If the proposal arrives more than six months after you registered for MMPP-001, the Regional Centre does not hold itself responsible for timely disposal.
Do I have to appear for a viva-voce?
Only if the evaluator recommends it, in which case you are duly intimated. There is no automatic viva for every MBAOM student.
