IGNOU MBAHM project hard copy, printed and posted to you
This category holds printed, bound reference sets for the IGNOU MBAHM project, the Human Resources Management specialisation of the MBA, whose project course code is MMPP-001. Each set is a physical copy of a completed synopsis and project report in an HR subject area, sent to your postal address so you can study the structure, the chapter flow and the depth of analysis on paper rather than on a screen.
This page is written for MBAHM students who have already registered MMPP-001 and now have to produce their own synopsis and report. It covers the thing that actually stops most HR projects, which is access to employee data, and it covers what the University requires when the bound volume finally goes to Delhi. Everything procedural below was checked against the School of Management Studies guidelines document for MMPP-001, and where that document is silent, this page says so instead of filling the gap.
Browse the other MMPP-001 hard copy specialisations
MMPP-001 is the same eight credit project course across MBA, MBAHM, MBAMM, MBAFM, MBAOM and MBF. What changes is the subject area your title belongs to. If your topic is not in Human Resources, go straight to your own specialisation.

Prefer a file you can open on a phone or laptop instead of a posted booklet? The IGNOU MBAHM project soft copy category lists the same HR subject areas as downloadable files, and it also sets out the MMPP-001 synopsis contents, guide eligibility and proforma rules in full.

MBAHM projects fail at data access, not at writing
The single most common reason an MBAHM project stalls is that the student picked an HR topic before confirming anyone would give them the data. A marketing student can survey customers in a mall. An operations student can time a process. An HR student needs a named organisation to hand over information about its own employees, and that permission is the hardest to get in the whole MBA.
This matters more for MBAHM than for any other MMPP-001 specialisation. Attrition figures, appraisal ratings, grievance records and salary bands are exactly the numbers an HR department treats as confidential. A student who writes a synopsis around them, gets it approved, and only then asks the HR head for the file, has spent months building on permission that was never granted. The project then either dies or quietly becomes something else, and the title on the approved proforma no longer matches the report. The guidelines are explicit that the final report must carry the title approved by the evaluator, with no changes at submission, so a mid-course change of topic is not a small problem. Confirm access first, then write the synopsis around what you were actually promised.
Score your HR topic before you write a word of the synopsis
Score your candidate MBAHM topic out of twelve on the six checks below, and only start writing at ten or above. Each check is a yes or no question about something outside your control. Two points where the answer is a confirmed yes, one point where it is likely but unconfirmed, zero where it is a hope.
| Check | What a full two points looks like |
|---|---|
| 1. Named organisation | You can name one specific organisation, and a person there with authority has already said yes to your study |
| 2. Respondent reach | You can put a questionnaire in front of enough employees to support the analysis you are proposing, and you know how you will reach them |
| 3. Data type is releasable | What you need is employee opinion or perception, not payroll, appraisal ratings or disciplinary records that HR is unlikely to release |
| 4. The variable is measurable | The thing you want to study can be captured by a questionnaire you can actually build and defend, not only by a term such as culture or morale left undefined |
| 5. Boundary is fixed | You have fixed one function, one location, one grade band and one time period, so the study has an edge |
| 6. Guide is an HR specialist | Your proposed guide meets the eligibility criteria and works in Human Resources, since guides are asked to supervise only within their core specialisation area |
Reading your score. Ten to twelve means the topic is workable and you can start drafting. Six to nine means one specific thing is unresolved, and it is almost always check one or check three, so fix that before writing rather than hoping it resolves later. Five or below means the topic is an idea rather than a study, and changing it now costs you a week, whereas changing it after approval costs you a result cycle. This scoring method is practical guidance from reviewing how HR projects go wrong, not an IGNOU rule. The University sets no scoring system for topic selection.

Four realistic routes to HR data, and what each one lets you study
Almost every workable MBAHM project runs on one of four access routes, and the route you have decides the topic you can honestly attempt. Choose the route first. The table below is practical guidance drawn from how HR field studies are usually built, not a set of University requirements.
| Access route | What it realistically supports | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
| Your own employer | Employee perception studies on engagement, training effectiveness, work life balance, supervisory communication or job satisfaction within one department | Get written permission before you name the organisation anywhere in the synopsis, and agree in advance what you may publish |
| An employer where a relative or friend works | The same perception studies, provided your contact can actually circulate a questionnaire rather than only answer it themselves | A single friendly contact is not access. Confirm who will distribute the questionnaire and who will chase non-responses |
| A small business or startup | Comprehensive case studies of how an HR function is being set up, recruitment practice, or induction and retention in a growing firm | Headcount may be too small for statistical work, so design the study as a case study rather than promising correlations you cannot compute |
| Two or more comparable units | Inter-organisational comparison, one of the three study types the guidelines permit, for example HR practice across two bank branches or two schools | You now need permission twice, and both must be secured before the synopsis goes to the Regional Centre |
Whichever route you use, the guidelines allow three kinds of MMPP-001 study and every route above maps to one of them. A comprehensive case study covers a single organisation or a multifunctional problem inside it. An inter-organisational study compares organisations, validates theory or surveys management practice. A field study is an empirical study. If your access route does not fit one of those three shapes, the problem is the route, not the wording of your objectives.
What a printed MBAHM reference set is for
A printed set is a worked example you read to see how an approved HR project is put together, not a document you submit. Reading a finished report on paper shows you things a template cannot: how long the literature review actually runs, how the questionnaire sits in the annexure, how findings are tabulated, and how far interpretation goes beyond restating the table.
Students use these sets in three ways. Some read one before choosing a topic, to calibrate how much work an MBAHM project really is. Some read one alongside their own draft, to check whether their methodology chapter covers what the guidelines ask for, including the reliability and validity of the tools used. Some want a physical copy simply because they annotate on paper and work away from a screen. All three are legitimate uses of reference material.
What a printed set is not. It is not your submission. IGNOU requires the project report to be the student’s original work, a signed Certificate of Originality goes into the bound volume, and where a report is found to be plagiarised the University acts under its own policy. Submitting someone else’s report as your own puts your MMPP-001 result and your MBAHM degree at risk. Use the set as a model for structure and depth, and build your study on data you collected yourself.
Hard copy rules that apply when your own MBAHM report is ready
You send exactly one bound copy of the MMPP-001 project report, and the University does not return it after evaluation. That single sentence has a practical consequence most students miss: whatever you post is gone, so print and keep a second bound copy for yourself before you send anything. If a question arises later about what you submitted, your retained copy is the only record you hold.
| Requirement | What the guidelines state |
|---|---|
| Paper size | A-4 size |
| Spacing | Typed in double space |
| Binding | A bound volume. The approved proposal must be bound in, and a report with a stapled proposal is not accepted |
| Where it goes | The Registrar (SED), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi 110068, by registered post, speed post or by hand |
| Envelope marking | PROJECT REPORT-MMPP-001 written on top of the envelope |
| Font, margins, referencing style | Not specified in the MMPP-001 guidelines. Anything you read online stating a mandatory font or margin is not from this document |
Four documents must be inside the volume before it is bound, and a report received without any of them is returned to the student for compliance. The IGNOU MMPP-1 project hard copy category sets out that document list and the surrounding submission process in full, so it is not repeated here.
One timing point worth stating plainly, because it is widely misreported. The report may be submitted at any time during the year. The dates that circulate as deadlines are result windows: a report submitted between 1 December and 31 May has its result declared with the June term end examinations, and one submitted between 1 June and 30 November with the December term end examinations.
Getting your printed MBAHM set
Pick the HR title closest to your own subject area from the products below and place the order. Printed sets are dispatched to the postal address you enter at checkout. If you are not sure which title sits closest to your topic, send a message before ordering rather than after.
Ask which printed set matches your topic
Also useful while you are working through MBAHM: MMPC reference books for the new MBA syllabus, MMPC solved assignments and MMPC guess papers. If you need a study written to your own organisation and topic rather than a reference set, that work is handled by our made to order project service.
Frequently asked questions about the IGNOU MBAHM project hard copy
Is the MBAHM project code different from the MBA project code?
No. MBAHM students take MMPP-001, the same project course as MBA, MBAFM, MBAMM, MBAOM and MBF students. The guidelines list all six programmes together. What differs is the subject area you write on the proforma, which for a Human Resources topic is HRM and OB.
My study centre still refers to MS-100. Is that the same course?
Yes. MS-100 is the earlier code for the project course and MMPP-001 is the revised code. The guidelines refer to both together when asking how many students a supervisor is currently guiding. Use MMPP-001 on your envelope and proforma, and treat older MS-100 material as still relevant in substance.
Can I submit a printed set bought from this category as my MBAHM project?
No. These are reference sets for studying structure and depth. Your MMPP-001 report must be your own original work, it carries a Certificate of Originality signed by you and your guide, and the University acts under its plagiarism policy where a report is found to be copied.
How many employees do I need to survey for an MBAHM project?
The MMPP-001 guidelines do not prescribe a sample size. What they require is that your synopsis states the sample and sampling technique, with a rationale for the chosen organisation and the chosen sample, and that your statistical tools are relevant to your objectives. In practice the sample has to be large enough to support the analysis you promised, so decide the analysis first.
Can I do an MBAHM project on my own workplace?
Yes, and it is the most common route because access is already partly solved. Get permission in writing from someone with authority before you name the organisation in your synopsis, and agree what you are allowed to publish. The guidelines permit a comprehensive case study of a single organisation, which is exactly this shape.
What if my HR department refuses to share attrition or appraisal data?
Redesign the study around employee perception rather than personnel records. Engagement, training effectiveness, supervisory communication, work life balance and satisfaction can all be measured with a questionnaire you administer yourself, which removes the dependency on confidential HR files entirely. Do this before the synopsis is approved, not after.
Does my guide have to be an HR specialist?
The guidelines set eligibility criteria for guides and then add that supervisors are asked to restrict their guiding to their core specialisation area, giving the example that a finance topic should have a finance specialist. Applied to MBAHM, a Human Resources topic should have a guide who works in Human Resources. A guide may supervise a maximum of five students at any one time.
Do I send the synopsis and the report to the same address?
No, and this is a frequent error. The synopsis goes to the Regional Director of your own Regional Centre, with MMPP-001 written prominently on the envelope. The bound project report goes to the Registrar (SED), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi 110068, with PROJECT REPORT-MMPP-001 on the envelope.
Will I get my bound report back after evaluation?
No. The guidelines state that only one copy is sent and that the project report submitted to the University is not returned to the student after evaluation. Print and keep your own bound copy before posting.
How long does synopsis approval take for MBAHM?
Written communication about approval or non-approval is sent within two to three months of the proposal reaching the Regional Centre. There is also a timing rule worth respecting: if the proposal arrives more than six months after you registered MMPP-001, the Regional Centre does not hold itself responsible for disposing of it in time.
Is a viva compulsory for the MBAHM project?
No. A student may be asked to appear for a viva-voce only if the evaluator recommends it, and the student is duly intimated in that case. It is not a standard step for every MMPP-001 submission.
Can I change my topic after the synopsis is approved?
The guidelines state that the final project report must be on the title approved by the evaluator and that no changes can be made while submitting it. This is precisely why data access should be confirmed before the synopsis is written rather than after approval arrives.
I am an MBA Online student. Do these postal rules apply to me?
No. The guidelines route MBA (Online) students through the LMS Portal for both the synopsis and the project report, while the postal routing described on this page applies to ODL students of MBA, MBAFM, MBAHM, MBAMM, MBAOM and MBF. Check which mode you are registered in before posting anything.
Should I buy the hard copy or the soft copy?
Choose the printed set if you read and annotate on paper or want a physical model of a finished report next to your desk. Choose the MBAHM soft copy category if you want the file immediately and prefer to read on a screen. The content covers the same HR subject areas; only the format differs.
