What the MSW Packet Contains When It Reaches You

Four physical things travel in the envelope, and it is worth knowing what each one is before you order, because a Study Centre coordinator will look for all four when you walk in.

The first is the written answer set itself, one bundle per course code, on plain A4 sheets in blue ink, answers numbered against the question numbers printed on your MSW booklet. Every SOSW paper for this programme runs to five questions worth 100 marks in total, and questions three, four and five each break into a menu of sub-parts, so a single MSW code produces a genuinely long piece of handwriting. The set arrives in question order with each answer starting on a fresh page, which is what the booklet asks for in its own instruction to learners.

The second is the IGNOU-format front page, free with every order, prepared with your enrolment number, programme code, course code and session already filled. What is deliberately left blank is your name, your signature and your Study Centre code, because those three are yours to write on the day you submit. The booklet is explicit that assignments are to be handwritten and duly signed before submission, and a signature that is not yours defeats the purpose of the exercise.

The third is a copy of the official TMA question paper for the code, so the coordinator can set your answers against the questions without opening a phone. The fourth is nothing at all in digital form. No soft copy or PDF is sold. If you were hoping to receive a file you could print, that is the solved-assignment product rather than this one, and the difference is set out further down this page.

What ₹320 a Subject Buys for MSW, and What It Leaves to You

The figure is flat and it is per course code, not per year and not per bundle. There is no minimum order: one subject or fourteen, same rate. In practice most MSW learners order two or three codes rather than a full year, usually the electives they picked late or the Year II papers that collided with a work deadline, and the rate does not change because the order is small.

Inside the ₹320 sit the writing, the paper, the front page, the question-paper copy and the courier. Outside it sit three things, and Shri Chakradhar Publication states them plainly rather than leaving them to be discovered. The first is the four MSWL field-work papers, which have no TMA and therefore nothing to write against. The second is MSWP1, the dissertation option, which is a supervised research report rather than an assignment and is handled through a different route entirely. The third is any promise about what happens after you hand the set in. No claim is made about the marks any assignment will receive, about how an evaluator will assess it, or about whether it will be accepted. Assignment evaluation is entirely a matter for IGNOU.

That last one is worth dwelling on, because the MSW field is crowded with services quoting approval guarantees and money-back percentages. A guarantee about an externally graded assignment is a claim about a decision the seller does not make. Shri Chakradhar Publication does not make it, and the absence is the point rather than an omission.

Reference PDF or Submission Copy: Telling the Two MSW Products Apart

These two are confused constantly, and the confusion costs learners a submission window. A solved assignment is a soft-copy reference file of model answers for one course code and one session, downloaded as a PDF and used as source material while you write. A handwritten assignment is the answers written out by hand on A4 and submitted in hard copy at the Study Centre, which is the form IGNOU actually collects.

IGNOU’s own wording settles the format question without any interpretation needed. The MSW booklet tells learners in its opening pages that assignments are open book examinations, and then that assignments are to be handwritten and duly signed before submission in the Study Centre. The MSWOL booklet for the online-mode version repeats it even though the file is uploaded rather than carried in, saying assignments are open-book exams and must be handwritten and signed before submission. A downloaded PDF, printed and stapled, is not that. It is a source you write from.

The Ten MSW Theory Codes This Order Can Cover

Sixteen theory codes sit on the MSW shelf; a single learner takes ten of them. Year I is three compulsory papers plus any two from a list of five. Year II is four compulsory papers plus any one from a list of five. Which two and which one you hold is decided by what you elected at registration, so read your codes off the admission record rather than off any list, including this one.

The left column below is how the code appears on the SOSW assignment booklet you will download. The second column is how the same code appears in the IGNOU Common Prospectus for July 2026. They are not the same string, and that mismatch is not a typo on this page.

The arithmetic is worth checking rather than trusting, because prospectus tables are extracted from a two-column layout and rows migrate. Year I is 12 compulsory credits plus 8 elective credits plus 16 field-work credits, which is 36. Year II is 16 compulsory credits plus 4 elective credits plus 16 field-work credits, which is also 36. The two years sum to 72, which matches the total the prospectus itself prints at the foot of the MSW table. Only ten of those courses are theory papers with a TMA, and 10 codes at 4 credits each is 40 of the 72 credits. The rest is field work.

Two of the codes on that list travel outside MSW. MSW-009 turns up in the MA in Corporate Social Responsibility table of the same prospectus, printed there as a three-digit code. MSWE-002 appears in the same table as an elective a CSR learner can take. Neither changes what you submit; both are useful to know if you ever transfer credit or find a stray booklet under an unfamiliar programme name.

The Four MSWL Papers That Carry No TMA, and Where MSWP1 Sits

This is the single most common dead end in MSW. Learners search for MSWL13 and MSWL14 assignment questions, find nothing, assume the portal is broken, and lose weeks. The portal is not broken. There is no assignment paper for those codes, because they are not assignment courses.

Those four MSWL codes carry 32 of the 72 credits, which is 44 per cent of the degree, and they are settled through a field-work journal, concurrent visit records, a block placement report and an internship report, all signed off by the Field Work Supervisor your Study Centre allots you. Both MSW booklets tell learners in their opening list to meet the Field Work Supervisor at the Study Centre, and neither prints a question for MSWL anything. Shri Chakradhar Publication does not write field-work journals as part of this order and will say so if you ask, because a journal records visits you personally made.

MSWP1 is the odder case. The prospectus places it inside the Year II elective group, in the same “choose any one” list as HIV/AIDS, Women and Child Development, Disaster Management and International Social Work. So the dissertation is not a compulsory MSW component at all: it is one of five things a Year II learner may elect instead of a theory paper. It also does not appear on the cover of the Year II assignment booklet, which lists eight codes and stops at MSWE-007. If you elected the dissertation, you are on the project route rather than the assignment route, and a reference MSW dissertation in hard copy is a different product with a different process.

Where IGNOU’s Own MSW Paperwork Contradicts Itself

Everything below was found by reading IGNOU’s own documents against each other rather than by reading other websites. None of it stops you submitting. All of it explains something that looks like an error on your side and is not.

Publishing a list like that on a page that is trying to sell you something looks like a strange decision. It is the honest one. Programme structures, course codes, submission dates and rules change, and only ignou.ac.in and your Regional Centre can confirm the current position for your enrolment.

31 March and 30 September: The SOSW Dates on Your MSW Booklet

The School of Social Work prints its own cut-offs, and they are not the ones most people quote. Read straight off the 2025-2026 MSW First Year paper: the July session closes on 31 March of the following calendar year, and the January session closes on 30 September of the same calendar year. The Year II paper and the MSWC paper for the same session print the same pair.

That matters because the 31 October and 30 April pair that dominates search results belongs to the School of Management Studies, and the 16 August and 31 May figures that circulate are extension notices for other programme groups. An MSW learner working to 31 October is working to a management deadline. Nothing in the MSW booklet supports it.

Two further points about the dates. The booklets are dated as a two-year span, 2025-2026, and one booklet covers both the July and the January intake, so downloading “the 2026 paper” is not a meaningful instruction; you download the booklet whose span covers your session. And an MSW paper expires. The questions are rewritten each cycle, so a set written against the 2024-25 questions is not a submission for 2025-26 even though the course code has not changed. Order against the booklet that matches your session, and if you are clearing a backlog, say which session so the right paper is used.

Why Your MSW Paper Prints No Assignment Reference Number

Learners arrive at the front page ready to fill in an assignment code and find there is nothing to fill in. Management programmes print a reference like MMPC-001/TMA/JULY/2026 on the paper. English and Hindi programmes print a two-year form. The SOSW booklets for MSW print no TMA reference number anywhere: the header of each question set reads only the course title, the words “Course Code” followed by the code itself, and “Total marks: 100”.

So for MSW, the course code is the assignment identifier. Write MSW-001 or MSWE-007 exactly as the booklet prints it, add your enrolment number, the programme code MSW, your Study Centre code and the session, and that is the full set of identifiers the coordinator needs. Do not invent a TMA string to fill the gap, and do not copy one from an MMPC or MEG sample front page, because it will name a session and a school that are not yours. The front page that comes free with this order is already built to the SOSW pattern.

Matching Your Own Hand on an MSW Set

A set that does not look like your writing is a set you will be nervous handing in, and there is no reason to be. Send a photo of a page you have written yourself and the handwritten set is matched to your handwriting at no extra charge. The same writer takes all the codes in one order so the hand stays consistent from MSW-007 through to the elective, rather than three papers arriving in three different scripts.

What Makes a Usable Sample Photo

Half a page is enough. Write it on ruled or plain A4 in the pen you normally use, in reasonable daylight, and photograph it flat from directly above rather than at an angle. What is being read is slant, letter size, spacing and how you form the letters that repeat constantly in social work answers: the double-l of “welfare”, the capitals in “NGO” and “SHG”, the way you write numerals for a question number. A photo of an old submitted assignment works perfectly and is often the easiest thing to find. The sample comes back before payment, so the judgement about whether it passes is yours and it costs nothing to make.

English, Hindi, Old Sessions and MSWOL

The service covers all mediums IGNOU issues the TMA paper in, at the same price. SOSW publishes the MSW booklets in English and in Hindi, and the store’s own MSW shelves carry Hindi-medium material for the same codes, so a Hindi-medium learner is not paying a premium and is not limited to a partial code list. Tell the desk which medium you are registered in, because the medium is a property of your enrolment rather than a preference, and the answers must be written against the paper in the language IGNOU will evaluate.

Old cycles are treated identically. Any session is accepted, current cycle or older, including backlog courses, at the same ₹320 per subject. MSW produces more backlog orders than most programmes precisely because the field-work load pushes theory papers to the back of the queue, and a learner clearing MSW-006 from two cycles ago pays what a current MSW-008 costs.

MSWOL, the online-mode Master of Social Work, needs one sentence of its own. It runs the same eight First Year codes, and its booklet still insists the assignment be handwritten and signed, but it is uploaded to the LMS portal rather than carried to a Study Centre. If you are an MSWOL learner, a couriered hard copy is not what your programme collects: you need clean scans of handwritten pages, one PDF per course. The Five Things to Send Before an MSW Set Is Written

Nothing else is needed, and nothing here is a payment detail.

1. Your course codes, as the booklet prints them. MSW-004, MSWE-003, MSW-032 and so on. If you are unsure which electives you hold, the admission record settles it.
2. Your session. July or January, and the year. This decides which booklet the answers are written against.
3. Your medium. English or Hindi, as registered.
4. The handwriting sample photo. Half a page in your own hand.
5. Enrolment number, programme code and Study Centre code. These go on the front page so you only add your name and signature on the day.

What is not asked for: your password, your Samarth login, your date of birth or any payment credential before the sample has come back and you have said yes.

What to Do the Week Your MSW Packet Lands

Open it the day it arrives rather than the week you plan to submit, because anything that needs fixing is easier to fix with time in hand. Check that the code on every bundle matches a code on your admission record, and that the question paper in the envelope is the one your booklet shows.

Then read the answers. You sign the declaration on the assignment cover page, so you should read and review the content before submitting it, and satisfy yourself that it represents your own understanding of the course. For a social work paper this is not a formality: MSW questions ask for examples from practice settings, and an answer about a de-addiction centre or a juvenile home reads better when you have added a line about a setting you actually visited during field work. Nothing stops you doing that.

Write your name, sign, and add your Study Centre code on the front page. Submit at the Study Centre allotted to you rather than at a Regional Centre or at headquarters, which is what the booklet instruction specifies. Ask for a stamped receipt, keep it, and photograph the pages before you hand them over. Marks appear on the grade card some weeks later, and a receipt is the only thing that helps if a submission goes missing in that gap.

What MSW Learners Add to the Same Order

An assignment set solves one deadline. The term-end paper is a separate 70 per cent, and the MSW shelves on this store are organised around that split.

Learners who want to write the answers themselves and only need source material usually start with the MSW help books built around the same blocks the questions are drawn from, since the booklet instruction is explicit that answers should come from IGNOU material. What MSW Learners Ask Before They Order

Where do I find the MSWL13 and MSWL14 assignment questions?

You will not find them, because IGNOU does not issue any. MSWL13 Social Work Practicum-I and MSWL14 Block Placement are field-work courses worth 8 credits each, settled through a field-work journal and a block placement report signed by the Field Work Supervisor your Study Centre allots you. Neither MSW booklet prints a question against an MSWL code. If a seller offers you an MSWL13 assignment, ask them which booklet it comes from.

Is the MSW assignment deadline 31 October like everyone says?

Not for MSW. The School of Social Work booklets print 31 March for a July intake and 30 September for a January intake. The 31 October and 30 April pair belongs to the School of Management Studies and gets quoted across MSW pages by mistake. Third-party sites are currently also circulating 31 May and 16 August. Check ignou.ac.in and your Regional Centre before you rely on any of them, including this page.

Can I print the MSW solved assignment PDF and submit that instead?

No. The MSW booklet says assignments are to be handwritten and duly signed before submission in the Study Centre, and a printed file is not handwriting. A solved assignment is a reference to write from. If you want a copy you can sign and hand in without writing it yourself, that is what this order is.

My paper has no TMA number on it. What do I write on the front page?

Write the course code exactly as the booklet prints it, for example MSW-009 or MSWE-002. SOSW booklets for MSW print no assignment reference number at all, so the course code is the identifier. Add your enrolment number, programme code MSW, Study Centre code and session, and that is complete. Do not borrow a TMA string from an MMPC or MEG front page.

Why is my code written MSW-001 on the booklet and MSW 1 in the prospectus?

Because IGNOU renders the same code differently in different documents. The prospectus uses a space and a single digit, the booklets use a hyphen and three digits, and a third form with a hyphen and a single digit appears in the PGDCOUN table. They are one course. Follow the booklet form when you write anything down, since that is what the coordinator is holding.

I am on MSW-013. Is that covered by this order?

MSW-013 Introduction to Psychological Basis of Counselling belongs to MSWC, the Master of Social Work Counselling programme, not to MSW. So do MSW-012, MSW-014, MSW-015 and MSW-016. This page covers MSW, and the store keeps a separate MSWC listing linked in the notice above. Handwritten work for MSWC codes is available at the same ₹320 per subject; just say MSWC when you message so the right paper is used.

Do you write the field-work journal or the internship report?

No, and no honest service should. A field-work journal records agency visits you personally made and is countersigned by your Field Work Supervisor. This order covers the theory codes that carry a TMA paper. Asking for a written journal is asking someone to record visits that did not happen.

Is MSWP1 the dissertation compulsory in MSW?

Not according to the Common Prospectus. MSWP1 Dissertation (Project work) sits inside the Year II elective group, as one of five options a learner may choose instead of a theory paper, alongside HIV/AIDS, Women and Child Development, Disaster Management and International Social Work. It also does not appear on the Year II assignment booklet cover. If you elected it, you are on the project route, which is handled separately from this order.

How many questions does one MSW paper actually contain?

Five, worth 100 marks in total, but the five expand. Questions one and two are 20 marks each with an alternative, capped at 600 words. Question three asks for any two of four answers at 10 marks each in about 300 words. Question four asks for any four of six at 5 marks each in about 150 words. Question five asks for any five of eight at 4 marks each in about 100 words. That is twelve written answers per code once the choices are made.

I study MSW in Hindi. Is the rate different?

No. The service covers all mediums IGNOU issues the TMA paper in, at the same price. SOSW publishes MSW booklets in Hindi and in English and the code list is the same in both. Tell the desk your registered medium when you order.

Can I order a backlog MSWE paper from an older session?

Yes. Any session is accepted, current cycle or older, including backlog courses, at the same ₹320 per subject. Name the session as well as the code, because MSW questions are rewritten each cycle and the answers have to be written against the booklet that matches your submission window.

I am registered in MSWOL, the online mode. Will a couriered copy work?

Probably not as it stands. The MSWOL booklet asks you to upload the assignment to the LMS portal, though it still requires the pages to be handwritten and signed. That means what your programme collects is a clean scan, one PDF per course, rather than a physical envelope. Say MSWOL when you message so the set is prepared for scanning rather than for a Study Centre counter.

How many marks are actually riding on the MSW assignments?

Assignments carry 30 per cent of the final course result and the term-end examination carries the remaining 70 per cent. Across the ten theory codes an MSW learner takes, that is 1,000 assignment marks over two years. Each MSW booklet also states that assignments are open book examinations, which is IGNOU’s own framing of why they are weighted.

Will this get my assignment accepted, or guarantee a mark?

No claim is made about the marks any assignment will receive, about how an evaluator will assess it, or about whether it will be accepted. Assignment evaluation is entirely a matter for IGNOU. Any service quoting a marks figure or an approval guarantee is promising a decision it does not make.

Do I get a PDF of the set as well?

How the Facts on This MSW Page Were Checked

From the IGNOU Common Prospectus, July 2026. Section 3.31, Master of Social Work (MSW), School of Social Work.
