Inside the MSCDSA Packet That Reaches Your Address

Four physical items travel together for each course code you order. The first is the answer set itself, written by hand on plain sheets in blue or black ink, question numbers reproduced exactly as the School of Computer and Information Sciences prints them, with the mathematical working on an MCS-061 paper set out line by line rather than compressed into a paragraph. The second is a cover sheet in IGNOU’s own layout, already carrying your enrolment number, programme code MSCDSA, course code, session and study centre, so that the only thing left for you to add is a signature. The third is a printed copy of the official MSCDSA question paper for that code, taken from the booklet on ignou.ac.in, which means the assignment number, the maximum marks and both submission dates travel in the same envelope as the answers rather than living on a phone screen. The fourth is the packaging itself, couriered as one consignment however many codes are in the order.

No soft copy or PDF is sold. Nothing is emailed, nothing appears in a download area, and there is no scanned version held in reserve. That is a deliberate limit rather than an oversight: what a study centre coordinator receives is paper, and paper is what this product produces. If you want a file to read from and write out yourself, that is a different purchase and the section below on reference material against submission material says where it lives.

Where the ₹320 Rate Stops, Stated Plainly

The rate is ₹320 per subject, hard copy only, with courier included in that price and no separate shipping charge. Inside that figure sit the writing, the IGNOU-format cover sheet, the printed question paper, the courier and the handwriting match. There is no minimum order: one subject or fourteen, same rate. A learner clearing a single MCS-073 backlog pays the same per paper as a learner sending an entire Semester II code list.

Outside that figure sit three things worth naming before you order. The MCSP-079 project is a twelve-credit project course with a report and a supervisor, not a four-question written paper, so it is quoted separately rather than folded into a per-subject rate. The lab record that an MCSL paper asks you to maintain across twenty lab sessions is your own document and cannot be produced from outside. And the viva voce that the MSCDSA booklet makes compulsory is something only you can attend. Delivery depends on your pin code and is confirmed for your order before you pay. No figure is promised on this page.

Reference PDF or Submission Copy: Telling the Two Apart

These two products are constantly confused, and the confusion costs learners a resubmission. A solved assignment is a soft-copy reference file containing model answers for one course code and one session, downloaded and read. A handwritten assignment is the answers written out by hand and handed in as hard copy at the study centre. One is study material. The other is the submission.

On the submission question, the MSCDSA booklet is not ambiguous. Its opening note instructs the learner to submit assignments to the Coordinator of the Study Centre on or before the due date, and adds that submission before the due date is compulsory in order to become eligible to appear in the corresponding term-end examination. For the lab courses it goes further, tying eligibility for the term-end practical examination to both the attendance requirement and the submission of assignments. That is a physical handover at a centre, with a receipt, not a file transfer. A downloaded PDF is a reference to write from and is not itself a submission; treating it as one is the single most common reason a set comes back.

The Fourteen MCS Theory Codes This Order Writes Out

MSCDSA runs 21 courses over four semesters and 80 credits: 14 theory courses, 6 practical courses and 1 project. Each semester carries exactly 20 credits, which is how the arithmetic closes. The titles below are read from the course table printed in the IGNOU Common Prospectus July 2026 and checked against the same codes on the university’s MSCDSA programme page. Where the two disagree, the disagreement is named in the warning box further down rather than quietly resolved.

Two of these codes are borrowed rather than native. MCS-207 Database Management Systems and MCS-224 Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning both appear in the M.Sc. (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) and in the Master of Computer Applications tables of the same prospectus, which is why the MCA help books covering the shared MCS course material are frequently the right reading for an MSCDSA learner even though the programme code on the cover says something else. Seven MSCDSA codes in total also sit in the MSCAIML table: MCS-061, MCS-066, MCS-072, MCS-073, MCS-077, MCS-207 and MCSL-076. Quote the programme when you order, because the assignment paper differs even where the code does not.

The Six MCSL Lab Papers and the MCSP-079 Project

The practical side of MSCDSA is where the assignment arithmetic changes shape, and where a page that only quoted a per-subject rate would be misleading you. Every MCSL code has its own assignment paper, so it is orderable, but on a lab paper the written answers are only part of the hundred marks.

Take MCSL-064 as the worked example, because its paper was read directly for this page. It carries a maximum of 100 marks at 30 per cent weightage, and the paper divides those marks as follows: two questions worth 20 marks each, giving 40 marks for the written answers; 40 marks for your Lab Record; and 20 marks for the viva voce. The two questions in the January and July 2026 cycle ask for a Python program to add two matrices and a Python program implementing a singly linked list. What can be written out for you is the 40-mark written portion, code and explanation set out by hand. The Lab Record is a document you build across your own lab sessions and it is not something an outside writer can create. The viva voce is yours to attend. Quoting all 100 marks as purchasable would be a lie, so this page does not.

MCSP-079 Project Work sits outside the per-subject rate entirely. It is 12 credits, the whole of the Semester IV load beyond MCS-077 and MCS-078, and it behaves like a dissertation rather than an assignment. Learners who need a bound report should look at bound project reports supplied in hard copy instead, and message the desk for a separate quotation.

Three IGNOU Documents, Three Different Answers on MSCDSA

MSCDSA launched with its inaugural batch in the January 2026 cycle, and the paperwork around a brand new programme has not settled. Every conflict listed below was found by reading IGNOU’s own documents against one another during the preparation of this page. They are printed here rather than tidied away, because a learner who orders against the wrong table pays twice.

None of these conflicts is dangerous once you know about it. All of them are dangerous if you do not. The practical instruction is short: read your codes off your own admission record and off the booklet that carries the MSCDSA name on its cover, not off a prospectus section header, and quote those codes when you order.

Both Dates Printed on One MSCDSA Booklet

The School of Computer and Information Sciences publishes MSCDSA assignments differently from the schools that issue an annual paper. One booklet, headed for January 2026 and July 2026 together, carries all six Semester I papers, and its contents table gives every code the same pair of dates: 30th April 2026 for the January to June session, and 31st October 2026 for the July to December session. You use one of those two dates, not both, and which one you use follows the semester you are registered in rather than the calendar month you happen to be reading this in.

That pairing is specific to this school and this programme. Deadlines at IGNOU are set per school, and a date lifted from a management or humanities booklet does not transfer to MSCDSA merely because both are postgraduate. The examination side follows the same semester logic: the university holds two examinations a year, in December for the July to December semester courses and in June for the January to June semester courses.

Two further instructions from the booklet’s opening notes matter more than the dates themselves. Submitting before the due date is what makes you eligible to appear in the corresponding term-end examination, so a missed assignment is a missed examination and not merely a lost thirty per cent. And for the MCSL lab courses, eligibility for the term-end practical examination requires the minimum attendance at lab sessions as well as on-time assignment submission. Assignments carry 30 per cent of the final course result and the term-end examination carries the remaining 70 per cent.

Papers expire. Each cycle IGNOU replaces the question set, and an answer written against the 2026 MCS-062 paper will not match the questions issued two cycles later. Confirm the live paper for your session on the university’s official MSCDSA programme page before ordering, and send the booklet or its date range along with your codes.

Decoding MSCDSA(I)/061/Assign/26 Before You Send It

The assignment number on an MSCDSA paper is not a TMA reference and does not follow the shape used by most other IGNOU programmes. Reading it correctly is the fastest way to check that you and the desk are looking at the same paper.

Take MSCDSA(I)/061/Assign/26 apart from the left. MSCDSA is the programme code. The roman numeral in brackets is the semester, so (I) means Semester I and not first year. The three digits are the course number with the MCS prefix stripped off, so 061 means MCS-061. Assign is the document type, and the word TMA does not appear anywhere in the booklet. The final digits are the year, printed as 26 in the contents table and as 2026 on the question page of the same file.

Lab codes rearrange themselves. MCSL-064 becomes MSCDSA(I)/L-064/Lab_Assign/26: the L that lived inside MCSL moves out in front of the number, and Assign becomes Lab_Assign. If you are copying a reference from a forum post rather than from the booklet, this is where errors creep in.

The practical consequence is a habit worth forming. Send the course code exactly as your admission record prints it, MCS-063 or MCSL-070, and send the programme code MSCDSA alongside it. Because MCS-061, MCS-066, MCS-072, MCS-073, MCS-077, MCS-207 and MCSL-076 also belong to MSCAIML, and MCS-207 and MCS-224 also belong to the MCA table, a bare course code cannot identify a paper on its own.

Your Own Hand, Copied From a Photo You Send

Send a photo of a page you have written yourself and the handwritten set is matched to your handwriting at no extra charge. The writer works from that sample, following the slant, the letter shapes, the spacing and the way you form numerals, which matters more on an MSCDSA paper than on a prose subject because MCS-061 and MCS-066 are full of matrices, determinants, integrals and subscripts where a stranger’s numeral shapes stand out immediately.

What Makes a Usable Sample Photo

Half a page of your ordinary writing is enough, on plain or ruled paper, in the pen you normally use. Photograph it flat in daylight with the whole page in frame and no shadow across the middle. Content is irrelevant, so copy a paragraph out of your study material rather than composing anything. If your usual writing includes worked equations, include a few lines of those too, because that is the hardest part to match and the part an evaluator sees most of in a data science paper. The sample goes over WhatsApp, a matched specimen comes back, and only then does the question of payment arise.

English Medium, Either Semester Cycle, Backlogs Included

The service covers all mediums IGNOU issues the TMA paper in, at the same price. For MSCDSA that statement resolves to one medium, because the prospectus records the medium of instruction as English and the university’s programme page records the same, so the papers, the study material and the answers are all in English. There is no Hindi MSCDSA paper to choose between; a learner asking for one is asking for something IGNOU does not issue. Note also that MSCDSA labels its papers Assign rather than TMA, so the sentence above should be read as covering whatever the School of Computer and Information Sciences publishes for your code.

Any session is accepted, current cycle or older, including backlog courses, at the same ₹320 per subject. Because MSCDSA is semester-structured and re-registration works semester by semester, mixed orders are the norm rather than the exception: a learner might send MCS-068 from a Semester II backlog together with three fresh Semester III codes in the same message. Each is priced identically and all of them travel in one consignment.

Learners who came into MSCDSA from a computing background sometimes hold codes from a cognate programme as well, and the store shelves those separately. Statistics reading for the Mathematical Foundations papers is easiest to find among the applied statistics guides on the PGDAST shelf, and learners who transferred in from information security will recognise the MSCIS shelf as the home of their earlier codes.

The Five Things to Message, and Nothing Further

An MSCDSA order needs five pieces of information and no more. Sending them together in one WhatsApp message removes an entire round of back and forth.

1. Programme code and semester. MSCDSA, and which semester the codes belong to. This is what separates your MCS-061 from the MSCAIML MCS-061.
2. The course codes. Written as your admission record prints them: MCS-062, MCS-207, MCSL-065, and so on. Say which of them are lab codes if you know.
3. The session. January to June or July to December, and the year. A backlog is fine; just name the cycle the paper belongs to.
4. The delivery pin code. Needed for the courier quotation, which is confirmed for your address before anything is paid.
5. A photo of your handwriting. Half a page, flat, in daylight.

What is not needed: your password, your Samarth login, your fee receipt, your grade card or your date of birth. Nobody preparing an assignment set has any reason to hold your university credentials, and you should decline the request if anyone asks for them.

When the Courier Hands Over the Bundle

Open the consignment and count the sets against the codes you ordered before anything else. Each set should carry a cover sheet naming the same course code as the answers behind it, which is worth thirty seconds of checking on a six-paper order where MCS-067 and MCS-068 sit next to each other.

Then read the answers. You sign the declaration on the assignment cover page, so you should read and review the content before submitting it, and satisfy yourself that it represents your own understanding of the course. On MSCDSA this is not a formality, because the booklet makes the viva voce compulsory for the assignments, and states that where a student has submitted the assignment but not attended the viva voce, the assignment is treated as not successfully completed and would be marked as ZERO. You will be asked about what is on those pages. Twenty of the hundred marks on every MSCDSA paper depend on your being able to talk about them.

Sign the cover sheet in your own hand. Submit to the Coordinator at your study centre on or before the due date printed on your paper, and collect the acknowledgement slip; it is the only proof you will have if the status portal is slow to update. Keep a photograph of every page before you hand the set over. No claim is made about the marks any assignment will receive, about how an evaluator will assess it, or about whether it will be accepted. Assignment evaluation is entirely a matter for IGNOU.

What Data Science Learners Add to the Same Order

Most MSCDSA orders arrive with a second line attached, and the pattern is consistent enough to be worth listing. Learners preparing for the December or June term-end examination alongside the assignment tend to pick up guess papers built from earlier MCS question trends, because MSCDSA is new enough that its own previous-year papers barely exist yet and the shared MCS codes are the closest available signal. For the data science content specifically, an MCS-226 revision paper on data science and big data covers a great deal of ground that overlaps MCS-062 and MCS-071 even though the code sits in a different programme.

Doubts MSCDSA Learners Raise Before Paying

Is MSCDSA the same programme as MSCAIML, since so many course codes are identical?

No. They are two separate M.Sc. programmes from the School of Computer and Information Sciences, each of 80 credits, and they share seven codes: MCS-061, MCS-066, MCS-072, MCS-073, MCS-077, MCS-207 and MCSL-076. The assignment paper is issued per programme, so an MSCDSA learner and an MSCAIML learner holding MCS-061 receive papers numbered differently and should not swap answers. Send the programme code with every order.

Why does the MSCDSA section of the Common Prospectus show MCS-218 and MCS-225 instead of my codes?

Because of a layout problem in the July 2026 prospectus. The table printed beside section 3.27 is the Master of Computer Applications table. The real MSCDSA table, MCS-061 through MCSP-079, is printed on page 81 under the section headed 3.28 for MSCAIML. Read the table that starts with MCS 061 Mathematical Foundations- I, wherever on the page it happens to sit.

Can I download a solved assignment PDF for MCS-062 and hand that in?

No. A solved assignment is a soft-copy reference file of model answers for a code and session; it is study material to write from. The MSCDSA booklet instructs you to submit to the Coordinator of your study centre, which is a physical handover. Download the reference if you want to write the paper yourself, and order the handwritten set if you want something ready to submit.

Will a typed and printed MSCDSA assignment be accepted at the study centre?

IGNOU’s general instruction across programmes is that assignments are handwritten, and study centres commonly refuse typed or printed sets. Nothing in the MSCDSA booklet suspends that. Where a lab paper asks for a Python program, the code is still written out by hand along with the explanation. If your regional centre has issued something different in writing, follow that, and confirm with the centre before assuming.

What is the difference in price between a solved assignment and this handwritten set?

They are priced on different bases. Solved assignment soft copies are priced per code on their own shelves. The handwritten set is ₹320 per subject with courier included and no separate shipping charge. The two are not substitutes: one is a file to read, the other is a set to submit.

Can you write my MCSL-065 Data Science Lab record as well as the assignment?

No. On an MCSL paper the written answers carry 40 of the 100 marks, the Lab Record carries 40 and the viva voce carries 20. The Lab Record is built from your own lab sessions at your learner support centre and is signed off there, so it cannot come from outside. The 40-mark written portion is what this order covers, and the page says so rather than implying otherwise.

What happens if I submit the assignment but skip the viva voce?

The MSCDSA booklet states that the viva voce is compulsory for the assignments, and that where a student has submitted the assignment and not attended the viva voce, the assignment is treated as not successfully completed and would be marked as ZERO. This is one of the sharpest differences between MSCDSA and most other IGNOU programmes, and it is a good reason to read the set before you hand it in.

My deadline says 30th April but a news article said the date was extended to 16 August. Which applies?

The dates printed on your own booklet are 30th April 2026 for the January to June session and 31st October 2026 for the July to December session. General university extension notices exist and have been issued in past cycles, but they are separate instruments and their scope varies. Confirm the position for your enrolment with ignou.ac.in and your Regional Centre rather than with a news summary.

I am only clearing one backlog code. Is a single paper worth ordering?

Yes, and it costs the same per paper as a bulk order. There is no minimum order: one subject or fourteen, same rate. A single MCS-074 backlog is quoted at ₹320 with courier included, exactly like a six-code Semester II order.

Is there an MSCDSA paper in Hindi?

No. Both the Common Prospectus July 2026 and the university’s MSCDSA programme page record the medium of instruction as English, and the assignment booklet is issued in English. Programmes that offer a Hindi option say so in the prospectus medium column; MSCDSA does not.

Does MCSP-079 Project Work come under the ₹320 per subject rate?

No. MCSP-079 is a 12-credit project course with a report and a supervisor, not a four-question assignment paper, so it is quoted separately. Message the desk with your topic status and it will be handled as a project enquiry rather than as an assignment line.

How many questions are on an MSCDSA theory paper, and what are they worth?

On the Semester I theory papers read for this page, MCS-061 carries four questions worth 80 marks between them out of a maximum of 100, with the remaining 20 marks allotted to the viva voce, at 30 per cent weightage. The instruction on the paper is to answer all the questions. Check your own paper, because question counts and mark splits are set per code and per cycle.

Why do six different PDF filenames on ignou.ac.in all open the same booklet?

The School of Computer and Information Sciences publishes the Semester I booklet under one filename per course code, so MSCDSA-MCS-061-2026.pdf and MSCDSA-MCSL-064-2026.pdf are the same document reached by different names. Each copy carries the full cover listing MCS-061, MCS-062, MCS-063, MCS-207, MCSL-064 and MCSL-065. Nothing is missing; it is one booklet with six front doors.

Semester III and IV papers are not on the portal yet. Can they still be ordered?

At the time this page was prepared, only the Semester I MSCDSA booklet was found published on ignou.ac.in, which is consistent with a programme whose inaugural batch began in the January 2026 cycle. Nothing can be written against a paper that has not been issued. Send your codes anyway and availability will be checked against the portal for your session before any quotation is given.

Do you send a scanned copy of the finished set for my records?

No soft copy or PDF is sold. What is dispatched is paper. Photographing the pages yourself before you submit them is the sensible habit, and it costs nothing.

Which Document Every Line Above Came From

Source one, the IGNOU Common Prospectus July 2026. Every course code, official title, credit value, semester placement and the medium of instruction in the tables above are read from the prospectus, specifically from the MSCDSA course table printed on page 81 and from the programme note in section 3.27. The credit arithmetic was checked independently rather than taken on trust: 20 credits in each of the four semesters, totalling 80, made up of 14 theory courses, 6 practical courses and 1 project, which is 21 courses in all. The prospectus is published at the university’s Common Prospectus download. The layout displacement described in the warning box is a property of that document as published.
