IGNOU’s own instruction settles the question of which one can be submitted. The 2025-26 first-year Public Administration booklet tells learners plainly that it is mandatory to write all assignments neatly in your own handwriting, and asks that answers be given in your own words rather than copied from the course material or any other source. A downloaded file, however good, is not a submission. It is a reference to write from.

Every MPA Course Code the Order Can Be Built Against
The Common Prospectus for July 2026 places MA (Public Administration) in the School of Social Sciences, sets eligibility at a Bachelor’s Degree or a higher degree from a recognised University, and runs the programme in both English and Hindi. The stated total is 64 credits. The first year is fixed: four papers, eight credits each, no choice inside it.

The optional block that decides your second year
Two features of that block are unusual enough to be worth stating outright. MPA-017 and MPA-018 carry four credits each and the prospectus marks them to be taken together, which makes them the only four-credit courses in a programme where everything else is worth eight. And MPAP-002 Project Work is optional rather than compulsory, with the prospectus noting that learners who take it write a dissertation of 10,000 to 15,000 words and recommending it to those intending to continue in the subject. A learner who skips it never writes a dissertation for this degree at all. Where IGNOU’s Own MPA Paperwork Contradicts Itself
These were found by reading the prospectus and two live booklets against one another. They are printed here rather than quietly resolved, because a learner who meets the same contradiction later should know it is the documents disagreeing and not their own reading.
Five disagreements sit in IGNOU’s current MPA paperwork, plus one that was on this store.
1. The MPA prefix does not belong to Public Administration alone. In the July 2026 prospectus it also carries MPA-006 Disaster Medicine inside MA Environmental and Occupational Health, MPA-033 Introduction to Disaster Management as an interdisciplinary elective inside MA Anthropology, and the whole MPA-031 to MPA-040 range inside the Post Graduate Diploma in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management. IGNOU’s own question-paper directory reinforces the overlap by filing MPA papers under a path shared with PGDDM.
2. The course code and the assignment code are written to different lengths on the same page. The first-year booklet heads the paper Course Code: MPA-011 and then prints Assignment Code: MPA-11/Asst/TMA/2025-26 directly beneath it.
3. The session is punctuated two ways inside one programme and one cycle. The first-year assignment code ends 2025-26 and the second-year one ends 2025-2026.
4. The second-year booklet’s own cover note says the booklet contains assignments of all the four courses offered in M.A. 1st year, while the table under it correctly lists MPA-015, MPA-016, MPA-017 and MPA-018.
5. MPA-017 is titled Electronic Governance in the prospectus and headed E-GOVERNANCE on the booklet. MPA-016 appears as Decentralisation in the Public Administration table and as Decentralization in another programme’s table inside the same prospectus file.

One arithmetic point belongs with them. Adding every credit printed in the MPA table gives 80, against a stated total of 64. The 64 is reachable only if a learner takes exactly two of the four eight-credit optional groups, but the prospectus prints no selection instruction under the MPA optional heading, where neighbouring programme tables in the same document do print one. Read your own admission record for the codes you are actually registered against rather than inferring them from the table.
The Two Cut-Off Dates the SOSS Booklet Prints
Both live Public Administration booklets for 2025-26 print the same pair of dates on the submission table: 31 March 2026 for the July 2025 session, and 30 September 2026 for the January 2026 session. The booklet also states the purpose of meeting them, which is eligibility to appear in the term-end examination.
Those dates belong to the School of Social Sciences and should not be carried in from another programme a friend is studying. The School of Management Studies runs a different pair entirely, and several aggregator sites currently circulate 30 April and 31 October against MPA-011, which is the Management pattern applied to a Social Sciences programme. The dates printed on the booklet you downloaded are the ones that govern your submission. Programme structures, course codes, submission dates and rules change, and only ignou.ac.in and your Regional Centre can confirm the current position for your enrolment.
Assignments carry 30 per cent of the final course result and the term-end examination carries the remaining 70 per cent. A booklet also expires: each cycle replaces the questions, so a paper downloaded two sessions ago is not the paper being marked now.
Reading MPA-11/Asst/TMA/2025-26 Before You Post It
The line printed under the course title on your booklet is the assignment code, and it is worth reading before the packet is sealed. Taking the first-year example apart: MPA-11 names the course in the shortened two-digit form, Asst marks it as an assignment, TMA identifies it as the Tutor Marked Assignment rather than any other coursework, and 2025-26 fixes the cycle the questions belong to.
The number of marks changes with the credit weight, which catches learners out. The eight-credit papers carry a Tutor Marked Assignment worth 100 marks, built as two sections of five questions each, from which five answers of roughly 500 words are attempted with a minimum of two drawn from each section, at 20 marks per answer. The four-credit MPA-017 paper carries 50 marks in the same shape, with answers of roughly 400 words at 10 marks each. Sending the wrong pattern for a course is the sort of error that shows immediately on the sheet.
Matching the Hand That Signs the Cover Page
The declaration on the front page is signed by you, so the writing behind it should not look like a stranger’s. Send a photo of a page you have written yourself and the handwritten set is matched to your handwriting at no extra charge.
What the sample photo needs to show
A single page is enough. Write six or eight lines of ordinary prose in the pen you normally use, photograph the page flat in daylight without a flash, and send it on WhatsApp. Capital letters, numerals and a signature line help, because course codes and question numbers appear throughout an MPA set. The sample comes back to you as a written specimen before anything is paid, and the order only moves once you have looked at it.
Medium, Session and Backlog Cover for MPA Learners
Public Administration is taught in two mediums and the paper is issued in both. The service covers all mediums IGNOU issues the TMA paper in, at the same price. After the MPA Packet Lands
Open the packet and check the codes on the sheets against the codes on your booklet before anything else. Then fill the front page in your own hand: name, enrolment number, programme code MPA, course code, study centre, regional centre and the session. Sign the declaration.
Read the answers through before the packet leaves your hands. Your signature sits under a declaration about your own work, so the content should be something you have looked at and are content to stand behind. Reading it is also the cheapest examination preparation available, since the term-end paper draws on the same blocks as the assignment.
Submit at the study centre allotted to you, which is what the booklet instructs, and take the receipt. The booklet asks learners to insist on the evaluated assignment being returned, and it is worth keeping a photocopy of what you submitted. Marks reach the Student Evaluation Division from the study centre, and the grade card follows on IGNOU’s own timeline rather than on any timeline this page could promise.
What Public Administration Learners Add to the Same Order
Most MPA orders are not placed alone, and the store carries the surrounding material. Questions MPA Learners Ask Before Placing an Order
Are MPA and MPA-031 the same programme?
No. MPA-011 to MPA-018 belong to MA (Public Administration) in the School of Social Sciences. MPA-031 to MPA-040 belong to the Post Graduate Diploma in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, which is a separate 40-credit programme running on a semester structure. The shared prefix is IGNOU’s, not a listing error.
Why does my friend’s MPA deadline say 31 October?
Because they are almost certainly not in the School of Social Sciences. Both live Public Administration booklets print 31 March 2026 for the July 2025 session and 30 September 2026 for the January 2026 session. The 31 October and 30 April pair belongs to the School of Management Studies. Several aggregator sites publish the Management dates against MPA codes, which is where the confusion usually starts.
Can I submit a printed solved assignment PDF instead?
The booklet states that it is mandatory to write all assignments neatly in your own handwriting, so a printed file is not what the study centre is asking for. A solved assignment is a reference to write from, not an object to hand in. What this page supplies is the written hard copy itself, posted to you.
My MPA-017 paper says 50 marks and my MPA-012 paper says 100. Is one wrong?
Neither is wrong. The marks follow the credit weight. MPA-017 and MPA-018 carry four credits each and their Tutor Marked Assignments are worth 50 marks with answers of about 400 words. The eight-credit papers carry 100 marks with answers of about 500 words.
Do I have to take MPAP-002 Project Work?
No. The prospectus lists MPAP-002 in the optional block, not as a compulsory course. Learners who choose it write a dissertation of 10,000 to 15,000 words, and the prospectus recommends it to those intending to pursue further study in Public Administration. Learners who choose other optional papers instead complete the degree without a dissertation.
Can I order in Hindi?
Yes. Public Administration sets are written in Hindi at the same rate as English ones, with no loading for the medium. Say which one you write in when you send your codes, because IGNOU issues this programme’s paper in both and the wrong medium is a wasted set.
How many subjects do I have to order at once?
As few as one. A single stranded backlog paper is handled exactly the way a complete second year is, and the per-subject rate does not change with the size of the list. Nothing is bundled and nothing has to be bought alongside it.
I am clearing a backlog from an older session. Is that possible?
Yes, and older cycles cost what the current one costs. Send the session along with the codes so the set is written against the paper that was live for that cycle rather than the paper on the portal today. Question text changes between cycles, so this detail decides whether the sheets match what the study centre expects.
When will it reach me?
That depends on where the packet is going, and the estimate is worked out from your pin code and told to you before money changes hands rather than printed here as a slogan. Any site quoting one fixed number of working days for every pin code in India is quoting a figure it cannot hold to.
Will the handwriting look like mine?
It is matched to a specimen you supply, and the matching costs nothing extra. You also see the writer’s own sample on WhatsApp before you pay, so nothing about the writing is accepted unseen. If the specimen does not look close enough to your hand, the order simply does not proceed.
What marks will the assignment get?
That is not something this page will put a number on, and no honest publisher can. Your script is read by an IGNOU evaluator at your study centre, and what it earns rests with them entirely. Any seller advertising a fixed figure on externally graded work is advertising something it has no control over.
