Inside the MAVS Packet When It Reaches You

A MAVS order is a physical bundle, not a file. What the courier hands over is a set of foolscap sheets carrying the answers to one MVS paper, written by hand in Hindi, ordered by question number the way the booklet lays them out, with the sheets bound together as instruction 3 asks. In front of them sits the IGNOU-format cover sheet, filled with the fields the MVS booklet prints on its own specimen: enrolment number, name, address, course name and code, assignment code, study centre name and code, and date. Behind the answers travels a printed copy of the MVS question paper the answers were written against, so the coordinator at the study centre can see which session’s paper the set belongs to without asking you.

The cover sheet costs nothing extra and neither does the question paper copy. Both are inside the ₹320. What is not inside is anything digital: No soft copy or PDF is sold. If a downloadable file is what you actually want, that is a different product on this store and is priced differently, and the difference between the two is set out further down this page rather than blurred.

Where ₹320 Per Subject Starts and Stops

One MVS paper, written out and delivered, is ₹320. There is no minimum order: one subject or fourteen, same rate. A learner who cleared MVS-001, MVS-002 and MVS-004 two cycles ago and is now sitting only with MVS-003 pays for MVS-003 and nothing else. A learner starting second year and needing MVS-005, MVS-006, MVS-007 and MVS-008 pays four times ₹320. There is no bundle rate, because there is no bundle: the price is per paper either way.

Courier is inside the figure. The rate is ₹320 per subject, hard copy only, with courier included in that price and no separate shipping charge. Nothing is added at checkout for packing, for distance, or for a second attempt at delivery. What the ₹320 does not buy is a promise about when the packet lands. Delivery depends on your pin code and is confirmed for your order before you pay. No figure is promised on this page. A pin code in a metro and a pin code in a hill district are not the same journey, and quoting one number for both would be quoting a number for one of them that is not true.

The other thing ₹320 does not buy is an outcome. The MVS booklet is explicit that what is being assessed is how far you have understood the material and can present it in your own words, and that reproducing the study material back is not the point. That judgement belongs to the evaluator at your study centre, not to any publisher.

Reference PDF or Written Set: Telling the Two MVS Products Apart

Learners searching for MVS material land on two different things and often assume they are the same thing at two prices. They are not, and the difference matters at the study centre counter.

A solved assignment is a soft-copy reference file of model answers for a course code and session — a PDF you open, read and write from. A handwritten assignment is the answers written out by hand and submitted in hard copy at the study centre. The first is study material. The second is a submission.

The scoping line worth being blunt about: a downloaded PDF is not a submission and cannot be handed in as one. Instruction 4 of the MVS booklet asks you to write the question number before each answer and to give the answer in your own handwriting, and instruction 5 asks you to give the completed work to the coordinator of your study centre by the fixed date. A printout does not satisfy either. All Eight MVS Papers in the 64-Credit MAVS Structure

MAVS is unusually simple to map, and unusually unforgiving because of it. The Common Prospectus for July 2026 gives the programme eight courses across two years, each carrying eight credits, with no elective slot, no specialisation stream, no project or dissertation course and no exit diploma. Eight papers multiplied by eight credits comes to sixty-four, and sixty-four is the figure the prospectus itself prints as the programme total. That sum was checked before this table was published rather than taken on trust, because two-column extraction from that document routinely bleeds one programme’s rows into another’s.

The practical consequence for a written set is that there is nothing to drop. In a programme with electives, a learner can sometimes route around a paper they find hard. In MAVS every one of the eight is compulsory, so every one of the eight eventually needs a submission.

The MVS Codes That Belong to a Different Programme

This is the trap most likely to cost a MAVS learner an order, and it exists inside IGNOU’s own numbering. The MVS prefix does not belong to MAVS alone. The Common Prospectus for July 2026 also assigns MVS codes to the Post Graduate Diploma in Vastu Shastra, coded PGDVS, taught by the same School of Humanities, in the same Hindi medium, under the same programme coordinator — and its four papers are numbered MVS-011 to MVS-014.

Those four sum to thirty-two credits and form a one-year diploma. They are not MAVS papers and no MAVS learner is registered for them. Two further consequences follow. First, MVS-009 and MVS-010 appear in no course table anywhere in the July 2026 prospectus — the numbering jumps from the MAVS block straight to the PGDVS block. Second, IGNOU’s own term-end question-paper archive files MVS papers under a combined MAVS-PGDVS folder, which is why a search for an MVS paper can surface material from a programme you are not enrolled in. When you send codes for a written set, send the programme name alongside them. That one word removes the ambiguity that IGNOU’s numbering leaves in place. Cognate Hindi-medium material from the same school sits with the MAHN Hindu Studies material from the same school, which is a separate 80-credit programme and should not be mixed in either.

Where the MAVS Record Contradicts Itself, Including on This Store

Reading the prospectus, the live assignment booklets and IGNOU’s own index pages against one another turns up disagreements that no single source shows on its own. They are listed here rather than quietly resolved, because a learner who meets one of them later deserves to have met it here first.

The 30 April and 31 October Pair Your MVS Booklet Prints

Both MVS booklets opened for this page — the first-year MVS-001 paper and the second-year MVS-005 paper for the same 2024-25 cycle — print the same two lines under the heading for the last date of submission. For the July session: 30 April of the following year. For the January session: 31 October of the same year. One booklet covers both sessions, which is the School of Humanities pattern rather than the single-session-per-booklet pattern used elsewhere in the university.

What makes this worth stating rather than assuming is the ordering. Several IGNOU schools pair a July intake with an October cut-off and a January intake with an April cut-off. MAVS runs the pairing the other way round: July to 30 April, January to 31 October. A learner who carries a remembered rule across from a friend in another programme gets the right two dates attached to the wrong two sessions, which is worse than not knowing them at all. Read the two lines off your own MVS paper on IGNOU’s own MAVS assignment index and treat that as final.

The reason the dates matter more than they look: Assignments carry 30 per cent of the final course result and the term-end examination carries the remaining 70 per cent. The MVS booklet adds a further line, that under the university’s rules submitting the assignment before the examination is compulsory and that without it you will not be permitted to sit the paper. A missed MVS submission is therefore not a lost 30 per cent — it is a lost sitting.

What MVS-005/2024-25 Means on Your Cover Sheet

The MVS assignment code is short and it is not the TMA format most IGNOU learners have seen. The booklets print two lines: पाठ्यक्रम कोड (course code) as MVS-005, and सत्रीय कार्य कोड (assignment code) as MVS-005/2024-25. That is the whole code. There is no TMA token in it, no session word, and no school abbreviation.

This is a real difference, not a shorthand. Management papers in the same university carry codes built as MMPC-001/TMA/JULY/2026, and English papers in this same School of Humanities carry codes built as MEG-08/TMA/2026-27. MVS carries neither pattern. Reading the code is therefore reading two things only: the paper it belongs to, and the two-year span of the cycle it was issued for. A set written against MVS-005/2024-25 is valid for that cycle’s two sittings and is replaced when the next booklet is published, which is the same reason an old downloaded paper cannot simply be reused.

The pattern each MVS paper follows inside is consistent across both booklets read for this page. One hundred marks. Two sections, both compulsory. Section one offers six questions and asks for four detailed answers at fifteen marks each, making sixty. Section two offers seven questions and asks for four answers at ten marks each, making forty, with the instruction that a ten-mark answer should run to roughly eight hundred words. No per-question word limit is printed beyond that line, so none is invented here.

Your Own Hand, Copied From a Photo You Send

Instruction 4 of the MVS booklet asks for the answer in your own handwriting. That instruction is the reason this service starts with your handwriting rather than with a house style. Send a photo of a page you have written yourself and the handwritten set is matched to your handwriting at no extra charge. The writer works from that sample: letter shapes, slant, spacing, how you form conjunct characters in Devanagari, whether your Hindi numerals or Arabic numerals appear in the margins.

Matching happens before payment, not after. You see what the match looks like and decide from there, so the risk of paying for a set that does not resemble your writing sits with the publisher rather than with you. Nothing about this changes the price: the sample, the matching and any adjustment to it are inside the ₹320.

Which Page to Photograph

Any page of Hindi you have written by hand works, and a page of ordinary continuous prose works better than a signature or a list. A full paragraph shows the writer how your letters behave next to each other, which a few isolated words cannot. Daylight, the page flat, the whole sheet in frame, no filter.

If the only handwriting you have to hand is in English, send it anyway and say so — the Devanagari can be built from the proportions and pressure that show through in any script. You can send your handwriting sample before paying anything and the team replies with the matched specimen for your MVS papers.

Hindi Medium, Older Cycles and Carried-Over Papers

The service covers all mediums IGNOU issues the TMA paper in, at the same price. For MVS codes that sentence resolves to one medium. The Common Prospectus records the medium of instruction for MAVS as Hindi, the booklets are printed in Hindi, and no English MVS paper is issued. So a MAVS set is written in Hindi because that is what exists, not because of a preference on this side. If you have been offered an English MVS paper somewhere, the safest reading is that the listing is wrong rather than that a paper you have not seen on ignou.ac.in is available.

Session coverage is wider than the current cycle. Any session is accepted, current cycle or older, including backlog courses, at the same ₹320 per subject. MAVS runs on a two-year minimum and a four-year maximum span, which means a learner can legitimately be finishing first-year papers in a year when their cohort is on second-year ones. Papers from the 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25 MVS booklets are all orderable. Send the code and the cycle, and if a booklet for that exact cycle is no longer on IGNOU’s index the team will tell you what is available instead rather than substituting a different year’s paper without saying so. Anything genuinely outside this programme’s list can still go through the open customised handwritten order for anything outside this list.

The Five Things the Team Needs From You

Orders stall on missing details more often than on anything else, and for MAVS the list is short.

1. Programme name and code. Write MAVS, not just MVS. The prefix alone does not distinguish you from a Vastu Shastra diploma learner.
2. The exact course codes. MVS-001 through MVS-008, taken from your admission record rather than from a syllabus page.
3. The session on your booklet. The two-year span printed on the paper, such as 2024-25, not the year you enrolled.
4. A photo of a page in your handwriting. One paragraph of continuous prose is enough.
5. Delivery pin code and a name for the packet. The pin code is what the courier window is calculated from.

Nothing else is needed. No enrolment scan, no fee receipt, no study centre letter. If your study centre has issued an instruction that differs from the booklet — some centres ask for a specific binding or a signature on every page — say so at this stage and it is built into the set rather than corrected afterwards.

Once the Courier Hands Over the Packet

Open the packet and read what is inside before it goes anywhere. You sign the declaration on the assignment cover page, so you should read and review the content before submitting it, and satisfy yourself that it represents your own understanding of the course. That is not a formality on an MVS paper in particular: the booklet states plainly that the purpose of the assignment is to assess how far you have grasped the material and can present it in your own words, and that reproducing the study material is not what is being asked for. Read the answers, and if a passage does not sound like something you would say, say so before you submit rather than after.

Then follow the booklet’s own closing instructions rather than any general advice. Check that the enrolment number and study centre code on the cover sheet are yours. Confirm the assignment code line matches the session you are submitting for. Take the set to the coordinator at your study centre and ask for a receipt. And keep a photocopy — instruction 5 under the special note in the MVS booklet asks you to retain a photocopy or carbon copy of your answers, and that copy is the only evidence you hold if a submission is later recorded as missing.

What Else MAVS Learners Pick Up With a Written Set

A written set solves the submission. It does not solve the sitting, and MAVS learners usually order against both. The 70 per cent that the term-end examination carries is prepared for from the material rather than from the assignment, so the full master’s degree book shelf and the programme-specific shelves under it tend to travel with a first order. Closer to the examination, MAVS guess papers, filed under MA Vedic Adhyayan and previous-year MVS question papers give a reading of which parts of the eight-credit blocks the examiner has actually returned to.

Learners in other programmes with the same paper-size instruction sometimes arrive here from the PGDT written set, which is prepared on foolscap for the same reason. What MAVS Learners Ask Before Placing an Order

Is an MVS handwritten assignment written on A4 or on foolscap?

Foolscap. Instruction 3 on the MVS booklets asks for foolscap-size paper only, and asks that the sheets be tied together properly. A great deal of general IGNOU advice online says A4, and for many programmes that is right, but for MVS codes the instruction printed on your own paper is the one that governs. Sets prepared here follow the booklet.

MAVS ka assignment Hindi mein hi likhna padega ya English chalega?

Hindi mein hi. The Common Prospectus records the medium of instruction for MAVS as Hindi and IGNOU issues the MVS booklets in Hindi only, so there is no English MVS paper to write against. My MVS booklet says 30 April but a website says 31 March. Which one applies?

The booklet. The MVS papers print 30 April for the July session and 31 October for the January session, and those two lines are the ones your study centre works from. Dates such as 31 March, 31 May and 16 August circulate widely because they belong to other schools or to extension notices for particular cycles. Verify on ignou.ac.in for your own session before you rely on any of them.

Can I download the MVS solved assignment PDF and hand that in instead?

No. A solved assignment is a soft-copy reference file of model answers for a course code and session; a handwritten assignment is the answers written out by hand on foolscap and submitted in hard copy at the study centre. Instruction 4 asks for the answer in your own handwriting, so a printout does not meet the requirement. The PDF is useful as a reference to write from, not as a submission.

MVS-011 mera code hai — kya ye bhi MAVS mein aata hai?

Nahin. MVS-011 to MVS-014 belong to the Post Graduate Diploma in Vastu Shastra, coded PGDVS, which is a separate 32-credit programme in the same school and the same medium. MAVS runs on MVS-001 to MVS-008 only. Send your programme name with your codes and the confusion resolves itself in one message.

How many MVS papers do I need to submit in total across the degree?

Eight. MAVS has eight courses of eight credits each, four in the first year and four in the second, and the prospectus totals them at sixty-four credits. There is no elective, no project course and no dissertation, so nothing in the structure can be substituted or skipped.

I only have one paper left from an earlier cycle. Is there a minimum order?

There is no minimum order: one subject or fourteen, same rate. A single carried-over MVS paper is ₹320, the same as any paper in a full-year set. Any session is accepted, current cycle or older, including backlog courses, at the same ₹320 per subject.

Why does the assignment code on my MVS paper look shorter than my friend’s?

Because MVS uses a different format. The MVS assignment code is the course code followed by the two-year cycle, as in MVS-005/2024-25. Management papers use a longer form with a TMA token and a session name, and English papers in the same school use another. Nothing is missing from your code; it is complete as printed.

What exactly does the MVS question paper ask for in each section?

One hundred marks in two compulsory sections. Section one prints six questions and asks for four detailed answers at fifteen marks each. Will you tell me how many marks the set will score?

No claim is made about the marks any assignment will receive, about how an evaluator will assess it, or about whether it will be accepted. Assignment evaluation is entirely a matter for IGNOU. The newest MVS booklet I can find is 2024-25. Has IGNOU stopped issuing them?

That is what IGNOU’s MAVS assignment index currently shows: the July 2024 / January 2025 set is the most recent MVS pair listed there, while some other School of Humanities programmes already have later sets published. It is not a statement that no newer paper exists — index pages lag. Check the index for your session, and if nothing newer is up, send the session you are registered for and the team will tell you what is actually available.

Can I get a scanned PDF of the set for my study centre’s online submission?

No soft copy or PDF is sold. What is delivered is the physical set. If your study centre has moved to an upload-only process, scanning the delivered sheets yourself is straightforward, but the product itself is the hard copy and is priced as one.

Does the packet include the front page and the question paper, or are those extra?

Both are included and neither is charged for. Every set arrives with a free IGNOU-format cover sheet and a printed copy of the official MVS question paper the answers were written against, so the coordinator can match the set to the session without asking you for it.
