Description
In short. Shri Chakradhar Publication writes the M.A. (Hindu Studies) Tutor Marked Assignment out by hand for any of the ten MHN course codes IGNOU lists against MAHN, from MHN-001 to MHN-010, each of them an eight-credit paper carrying 100 assignment marks, and posts the finished set with an IGNOU-format cover sheet and a copy of the question paper it was written against. The rate is ₹320 per subject, hard copy only, with courier included in that price and no separate shipping charge. Every MAHN booklet checked for this page prints its last dates as 30 April of the following year for the July cycle and 31 October of the same year for the January cycle, dates the answers are timed against, and stamps its assignment code in the bare form MHN-001/2024-25 with no TMA token in the middle. MAHN is taught in Hindi only, so the set is written in Devanagari, and the booklets ask for foolscap sheets rather than the A4 most guidance pages assume.
Inside the MAHN Parcel When It Reaches You
Four physical things travel together. First, the answer set itself, one bundle per MHN code, written by hand and tied so the sheets stay in question order. Second, an IGNOU-format front page for each code, filled with the fields the MHN booklet prints on its own instruction page: enrolment number, name, full address, course name and code, assignment code, Study Centre name and code, and date. Third, a copy of the official MHN question paper the answers were written against, so you can put the paper beside the answers and confirm that question four in the packet is question four on the booklet. Fourth, nothing electronic. No soft copy or PDF is sold.
The parcel is put together per code rather than per year, which matters in MAHN more than in most programmes. A learner who cleared MHN-001, MHN-002 and MHN-005 in an earlier cycle and is carrying MHN-003 and MHN-004 forward orders two bundles, not a first-year block. There is no minimum order: one subject or fourteen, same rate.
What ₹320 Buys for One MHN Paper, and What It Leaves to You
The ₹320 covers the reading of the booklet, the drafting of eight answers across the two compulsory sections, the writing out of those answers in a hand matched to your own, the cover sheet, the copy of the question paper, and the courier. It does not cover anything that belongs to you as the enrolled learner. You still choose which codes you are submitting this cycle. You still confirm your Study Centre code. You sign the declaration on the assignment cover page, so you should read and review the content before submitting it, and satisfy yourself that it represents your own understanding of the course.
It also does not cover a promise about the outcome. No claim is made about the marks any assignment will receive, about how an evaluator will assess it, or about whether it will be accepted. Assignment evaluation is entirely a matter for IGNOU. What the rate does buy is the eight-hundred-word answers and the copying-out hours, which for a ten-paper Hindi-medium degree is the bulk of the labour. If you would rather do that work yourself, the step-by-step method is set out in the companion guide to writing an IGNOU assignment by hand on the editorial site, and nothing on this page is needed to follow it.
Model Answer PDF or Written-Out Hard Copy: Telling the Two Apart
These are two different products and MAHN learners routinely arrive expecting one and describing the other. A solved assignment is a soft-copy reference file of model answers for a course code and session; you download it, read it and write your own answers from it. A handwritten assignment is the answers written out by hand on paper and submitted in hard copy at the Study Centre; that is what this product is.
| Point of difference | Solved assignment, soft copy | Handwritten assignment, hard copy |
|---|---|---|
| Form it takes | A PDF for one MHN code and one session | A tied paper bundle for one MHN code and one session |
| What you do next | Read it, work through the booklet, then write the answers yourself | Check it against the enclosed question paper, sign the declaration, hand it in |
| What travels with it | A download link | The set, the IGNOU-format front page, the copy of the question paper |
| Who tends to want it | Learners who intend to write in their own hand and want a reference | Learners whose writing time has run out before the cut-off |
| Rate on this store | Listed on the solved-assignment side of the catalogue | ₹320 per subject, courier included |

The honest scoping matters here. A solved assignment is a reference to write from; it is not a submission. Printing a downloaded PDF and handing it in is not the same act as submitting a handwritten set, and the MHN booklet is explicit on the point: its fourth instruction tells the learner to write the question number before each answer and to answer in the learner’s own handwriting. That instruction is why a printed file and a written set are not interchangeable, whatever the file is called. If a reference PDF is what you actually want for your MHN codes, the store keeps those on the master-degree solved assignment catalogue rather than here, and that is the right place to send the query.
Ten codes, one rate, no bundle arithmetic. ₹320 per subject, courier included, cover sheet included, question paper included.
Send the MHN codes you need this cycle with your admission cycle and pin code, and the order is confirmed back to you before anything is paid.
All Ten MHN Codes, Eight Credits Each
MAHN is an eighty-credit programme built from ten courses of eight credits apiece, five in the first year and five in the second. The arithmetic is worth stating because it is unusual: most IGNOU master’s programmes are assembled from four-credit and six-credit courses, so a learner comparing MAHN with a friend’s MEG or MPS load is comparing papers of different weight. Ten multiplied by eight is eighty, which matches the total the Common Prospectus for July 2026 states for the programme, and that check was run before the table below was trusted.
The titles come from the Common Prospectus, where the MAHN section is printed in Hindi in a legacy Devanagari font. They are given below in Devanagari as the prospectus records them, with a working English gloss added for readers who search in English. The glosses are a translation for navigation, not IGNOU’s own English titles, because IGNOU publishes no English title list for this programme.
| Year | Code | Title as the prospectus prints it | Working English gloss | Credits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| First | MHN-001 | हिन्दू अध्ययन की अवधारणा एवं स्वरूप | Concept and nature of Hindu studies | 8 |
| First | MHN-002 | अध्ययन के मूल स्रोत | Primary sources of the study | 8 |
| First | MHN-003 | ज्ञान-मीमांसा | Epistemology | 8 |

There is no elective basket and no project course in this list. Every one of the ten is compulsory, which removes the usual source of confusion in a master’s order, where two learners of the same batch hold different code sets. In MAHN the only variable is how far through the ten you are. What is not in the prospectus is equally worth knowing: the section promises a Post Graduate Diploma in Hindu Studies to a learner who exits after completing forty credits in the first year, and no programme code for that diploma appears anywhere else in the same document. Read your own admission record for the codes you are registered against, because a re-registration gap can leave the second-year block open while the first is closed.
Where the Prospectus and the MHN Booklets Pull Apart
Every disagreement listed here was found by reading IGNOU’s own documents against each other, and the last two are the store’s own errors rather than the university’s.
Seven disagreements a MAHN learner should know about before writing anything on a cover sheet.
1. The code appears in four spellings. The Common Prospectus prints MHN-001 through MHN-010. The booklet cover prints the same code with a space, as MHN 001, while the code fields inside that very booklet print MHN-001. Third-party sellers list the papers as MHN-01. The store’s own guess-paper listings use MHN 1. Copy whichever form your own booklet prints in its assignment code field.
2. The prospectus table is not internally consistent either. In the same ten-row table, MHN-001, MHN-005 and MHN-010 are set closed up, while MHN-002 to MHN-004 and MHN-006 to MHN-009 carry a space between the prefix and the number.
3. The exit award has no code. The MAHN section states that a learner completing forty credits in the first year may be granted a Post Graduate Diploma in Hindu Studies. No such diploma, and no code for it, appears anywhere else in the Common Prospectus for July 2026.
4. Eligibility is worded two ways in one book. The programme table lists eligibility as graduation in any stream or discipline. The MAHN section itself specifies a bachelor’s or higher degree in any subject from a recognised university, which is a wider statement.
5. The paper size is not A4. The MHN booklets instruct the learner to use foolscap sheets only and to tie them securely. Almost every guidance page on the web, this store’s own handwritten category page included, states A4.
6. The store advertises three prices at once. ₹320 is the current rate, older product pages still show ₹350, and at least one legacy solved-assignment page still offers handwritten work at ₹300. The rate on this page is the correct one.
7. The store gives two founding years. One page says the company has served learners since 2010 and another says 2012. Both cannot be right, and the discrepancy is disclosed here rather than quietly picked.
Disclosing an in-house error is a stronger position than hiding it. If any of the seven has moved since this page was last checked, ignou.ac.in and your Regional Centre are the only authorities that settle it. Programme structures, course codes, submission dates and rules change, and only ignou.ac.in and your Regional Centre can confirm the current position for your enrolment.
The Two Dates Your MHN Booklet Actually Prints
Submission dates in IGNOU are set by the school that owns the course, and the School of Humanities does not use one pairing for all its programmes. The MHN booklets print their last dates under a single heading on the instruction page, and the pairing runs opposite to the one most search results repeat, where a July session is said to submit by 31 October. In MAHN it is the January cycle that submits by 31 October, and the July cycle that gets until 30 April of the following calendar year, a runway of roughly ten months rather than three.
| Admission cycle | Booklet session line | Last date printed | Read off |
|---|---|---|---|
| July 2023 | For the July 2023 and January 2024 sessions | 30 April 2024 | MHN-005 booklet, 2023-24 |
| January 2024 | For the July 2023 and January 2024 sessions | 31 October 2024 | MHN-005 booklet, 2023-24 |
| July 2024 | For the July 2024 and January 2025 sessions | 30 April 2025 | MHN-001 and MHN-006 booklets, 2024-25 |
| January 2025 | For the July 2024 and January 2025 sessions | 31 October 2025 | MHN-001 and MHN-006 booklets, 2024-25 |
Scroll the table sideways on a narrow screen.
Two further points sit behind that table. One booklet covers both cycles, so a single MHN paper carries both dates and the learner picks the row that matches the cycle they were admitted in, not the examination they are heading towards. And the whole exercise has a purpose: assignments carry 30 per cent of the final course result and the term-end examination carries the remaining 70 per cent. A missed date is not a lost paper so much as a lost thirty, and the booklet closes by noting that submitting the assignment is required before the learner is permitted to sit the examination at all.
Reading MHN-001/2024-25 Before You Copy It Onto the Cover
The assignment code is the string the evaluator uses to route your file, and MAHN builds it from two parts only. The course code comes first, then a slash, then the academic year span. MHN-001/2024-25 is a first-year Hindu studies paper for the 2024-25 cycle. MHN-009/2024-25 is a second-year polity paper for the same cycle. There is no session token in the middle, which is where MAHN differs from the management programmes whose codes carry a TMA marker and a month name between the code and the year.
That absence causes a specific error. A learner who has seen a friend’s management paper sometimes writes an invented middle segment onto the MAHN cover sheet, producing a code that matches nothing on the evaluator’s list. The booklet prints the correct string twice, once as the course code and once as the assignment code, and copying it exactly from your own paper removes the risk. Papers also expire. The 2023-24 MHN paper and the 2024-25 MHN paper for the same code ask different questions, and a set written against a retired paper answers questions nobody asked.
Your Own Hand, Reproduced From a Photo
Send a photo of a page you have written yourself and the handwritten set is matched to your handwriting at no extra charge. The match is done before the order is confirmed, not after it is dispatched, which is the point at which a learner can walk away at no cost.
What the sample page should show
For MAHN the sample needs to be in Devanagari, because that is the script the whole set will be written in and a Roman-script sample tells the writer very little about how you form conjunct characters. Half a page is enough. Write it on ruled or plain paper in the pen you normally use, photograph it flat in daylight rather than under a lamp, and send the image rather than a scan compressed to nothing. What is being matched is slant, letter height, the spacing you leave between words, and the way you handle the matra strokes above the line, which is the most individual thing about a Hindi hand.
The sample comes before the payment, not after it. ₹320 per subject, hard copy, courier included, no separate shipping charge.
Share a photo of your Devanagari handwriting along with the MHN codes, and a matched writer is assigned before anything is charged.
Hindi Medium, Old Sessions and Backlog Papers
The service covers all mediums IGNOU issues the TMA paper in, at the same price. For MAHN that resolves to one medium: the Common Prospectus records the medium of instruction for this programme as Hindi, and the entire programme section in that document is printed in Hindi with no English counterpart, unlike the Urdu programmes described immediately after it. A learner asking for an English-medium MAHN set is asking for something IGNOU does not issue a paper for.
Session coverage is wider than the portal suggests. Any session is accepted, current cycle or older, including backlog courses, at the same ₹320 per subject. That matters in MAHN because the assignment portal currently carries MAHN papers for two cycles only, 2023-24 and 2024-25, and the 2023-24 row lists first-year codes alone with no second-year links at all. A learner carrying an old MHN-008 forward is working from a paper the portal no longer displays, and the copy of the question paper included in the packet becomes the record of what was answered. If your programme code is not MAHN at all but a neighbouring Hindi-medium master’s, the any-course handwritten order takes the same details on the same terms.
Five Things to Send on WhatsApp
- The MHN codes. Written as your own booklet prints them, for example MHN-003 and MHN-004, not the year or the block name.
- Your admission cycle. July or January, and the year, because that is what selects the row in the deadline table above.
- The session on the paper. The span printed on your booklet, such as 2024-25, so the answers are written against the questions actually set.
- A photo of your handwriting. Half a page of Devanagari in your usual pen.
- Your pin code and delivery address. Delivery depends on your pin code and is confirmed for your order before you pay. No figure is promised on this page.
Nothing else is required. Enrolment numbers and Study Centre codes belong on the cover sheet, which travels blank for you to complete, and are not needed to place the order.
Confirm the codes, then the writer starts. ₹320 per subject for MAHN, courier included in that price.
Message the five details in one go and the whole order is settled in a single exchange.
Once the Parcel Is in Your Hands
Open it against the question paper first. Check that the number of answers matches the number the booklet asked for, that the section split is right, and that the code on each bundle is the code you ordered. Then fill the front page. The MHN booklet asks for the enrolment number, name and full address in the top right of the first sheet, and the course title, assignment number and Study Centre on the left, and it is worth copying those fields from your own admission record rather than from memory.
After that the file is yours to read. You sign the declaration on the assignment cover page, so you should read and review the content before submitting it, and satisfy yourself that it represents your own understanding of the course. Submission is to the Coordinator of your allotted Study Centre by the date on your booklet, and the booklet also advises keeping a photocopy of your answers, which is sensible advice for a paper set that has to survive a counter and a filing cabinet. Take the acknowledgement slip when you hand the set over; it is the only proof of submission you will hold.
What MAHN Learners Add to the Same Order
Most MAHN orders arrive alongside something else, because the ten papers land in five-paper blocks and a learner ordering the writing usually wants the reading as well. The unit-wise guides sit in the Hindu studies help book shelf, arranged against the same ten codes. For examination season rather than assignment season, the MAHN question bank of likely topics is organised the same way, and the first-year set is also sold as a five-paper combined pack for the first year, which is incidentally the listing that spells the codes as MHN 1 to MHN 5 and is named in the disagreements above.
Neighbouring programmes come up constantly, because the same programme coordinator at the School of Humanities runs three of them. Learners registered for the Vedic studies degree use the MVS course material shelf, which is a sixty-four-credit programme built the same way from eight-credit papers. The astrology degree keeps its papers on the MAJY reference answer listing. For Hindi literature rather than Hindi studies, the reference files are on the MHD reference answer listing, which is a different degree despite the similar code prefix.
Two more routes are worth naming. Learners who want reference answers across several programmes at once take the all-programme reference volume in print instead of buying code by code. And the full range of written-out sets for other degrees sits on the hand-written service hub, which is where to go if a second enrolment in the household needs the same thing for a different programme.
Questions Hindu Studies Learners Raise Before Paying
Which MHN codes can be ordered here?
All ten. MHN-001 to MHN-005 are the first-year papers and MHN-006 to MHN-010 are the second-year papers, and each one is an eight-credit course carrying 100 assignment marks. Order any combination of them; there is no minimum order: one subject or fourteen, same rate.
Is MAHN available in English medium?
The Common Prospectus records the medium of instruction for MAHN as Hindi, and IGNOU issues the MHN assignment papers in Hindi. The service covers all mediums IGNOU issues the TMA paper in, at the same price, which for this programme means the set is written in Devanagari. A learner who needs English-medium material for the subject matter is looking at a different programme, not a different medium of this one.
Do the MHN booklets ask for A4 or foolscap paper?
Foolscap. The instruction on the MHN booklets is to use only foolscap-size sheets for answers and to tie the sheets together properly. This is one of the few places where IGNOU’s own paper differs from the general guidance circulating online, which almost always says A4, and it is worth checking your own booklet’s third instruction rather than assuming.
My guess paper says MHN 1 and the prospectus says MHN-001. Which goes on the cover sheet?
Whichever form your own assignment booklet prints in its assignment code field, which is the three-digit form MHN-001. The four spellings in circulation are MHN-001 in the prospectus, MHN 001 on the booklet cover, MHN-01 from third-party sellers and MHN 1 on some of this store’s own guess-paper listings. They all refer to the same paper, but the cover sheet should match the booklet.
Can a downloaded MAHN solved assignment PDF be handed in at the Study Centre?
No. A solved assignment is a soft-copy reference file of model answers for a course code and session, meant to be read and written from. The MHN booklet instructs the learner to answer in their own handwriting, which is what makes a printed file and a written set two different things. If a reference file is what you want, it belongs on the solved-assignment side of the catalogue rather than here.
MAHN ke liye solved assignment aur handwritten assignment mein kya farak hai?
Solved assignment ek soft copy reference file hai: aap use padhkar apne shabdon mein MHN paper likhte hain. Handwritten assignment wahi answers haath se likhe hue kaagaz par hain, front page aur question paper ke saath, jo seedha Study Centre par jama karne ke liye tayyar hai. Pehla padhne ke liye hai, doosra jama karne ke liye.
Does a typed MHN answer set get rejected?
The MHN booklet asks for answers in the learner’s own handwriting, and Study Centres generally treat typed or printed submissions as not meeting that instruction. No claim is made here about how any particular Study Centre will act, because no claim is made about the marks any assignment will receive, about how an evaluator will assess it, or about whether it will be accepted. Assignment evaluation is entirely a matter for IGNOU. What can be said is what the paper itself asks for.
Should I buy the MAHN reference answers as well as the written-out set?
Only if you want the reading for the examination as well as the writing for the submission. The written-out set already includes the copy of the question paper it was answered against, so nothing further is needed to submit. Learners preparing for the term-end paper often add the reference material because the assignment questions and the examination topics overlap, but that is an examination decision, not a submission one.
The portal has no MAHN paper after 2024-25. What do I submit against?
Against the paper valid for your admission cycle, which is what the portal lists. As things stand, MAHN papers are posted for 2023-24 and 2024-25, and the 2023-24 row carries first-year codes only. If your Regional Centre has issued a newer MHN paper that has not reached the portal, send that paper and the set is written against it; the enclosed copy of the question paper will then match what your Study Centre expects.
What is the last date for the July cycle MHN papers?
30 April of the following calendar year, as printed on the MHN booklets. The January cycle runs to 31 October of the same calendar year. That pairing is the reverse of the one most search results repeat, so it is worth reading it off your own booklet’s instruction page rather than from a summary. Programme structures, course codes, submission dates and rules change, and only ignou.ac.in and your Regional Centre can confirm the current position for your enrolment.
How many answers does one MHN paper need?
Eight. The paper is divided into two compulsory sections. The first asks for detailed answers to any four of six questions at fifteen marks each, making sixty. The second asks for any four of six at ten marks each, making forty, and the booklet indicates roughly eight hundred words for a ten-mark answer. The two sections total 100 marks.
Is there a project or dissertation course in MAHN?
Not in the course list the Common Prospectus gives for the programme. All ten MHN courses are taught papers of eight credits, and none of them is marked as a project. That is a difference from many other master’s programmes where a final-year project course sits inside the credit total.
What happens if I exit after the first year?
The prospectus section for MAHN states that a learner who completes forty credits in the first year may be granted a Post Graduate Diploma in Hindu Studies. No code for that diploma appears anywhere else in the same document, which is why it is listed in the disagreements above rather than presented as settled. Your Regional Centre is the place to confirm whether the exit route is operational for your batch.
Can second-year MHN codes be ordered when the portal only lists them for one cycle?
Yes. MHN-006 to MHN-010 are written on the same terms as the first-year codes, using the paper valid for your cycle. Any session is accepted, current cycle or older, including backlog courses, at the same ₹320 per subject.
Are the 2023-24 MHN papers still written for backlog learners?
Yes, and they are ordinary orders rather than special cases. The 2023-24 MHN booklets print 30 April 2024 for the July 2023 cycle and 31 October 2024 for the January 2024 cycle, both long past, so a learner submitting one now should confirm with their Regional Centre that the paper is still being accepted before the set is written.
How the Facts on This Page Were Checked
From the Common Prospectus. The programme code MAHN, the School of Humanities as the owning school, the eighty-credit total, the ten MHN course codes with their Devanagari titles and eight-credit weight, the Hindi medium of instruction, the eligibility wording, the annual fee of ₹7,500 with a stated total of ₹15,000, the two-year duration with a four-year maximum, the January and July admission cycles, and the forty-credit exit provision. The credit arithmetic was summed independently and matched the stated total before the table was used. Source: IGNOU Common Prospectus, July 2026 edition.
From the live assignment booklets. The two submission dates, the assignment code format, the foolscap instruction, the own-handwriting instruction, the two-section 100-mark question pattern, and the cover-page applicability, which names MAHN alone. Three booklets were opened: MHN-001 and MHN-006 for 2024-25, and MHN-005 for 2023-24. All three were reached through IGNOU’s own MAHN assignment index, and the current papers for any programme are listed on the university’s assignment download service.
From Shri Chakradhar Publication’s own commercial terms. The rate, what is included, the handwriting match, the session coverage and the absence of a delivery figure. These are the publisher’s terms and not IGNOU rules, and they are kept separate here for that reason. The rate is ₹320 per subject, hard copy only, with courier included in that price and no separate shipping charge.
