Inside the Parcel That Reaches Your Door

A MARD order arrives as paper, not as a download. Each course code you name comes back as its own bundle of A4 sheets, written in blue or black ink, with the long answer, the two medium answers and the five short notes laid out in the order the booklet prints them. The bundles are kept separate rather than stapled into one block, because IGNOU asks for one document per course and study centres do reject combined sets.

Riding on top of each bundle is an IGNOU-format cover sheet with the fields already ruled out for your enrolment number, name, programme code MARD, course code, study centre and regional centre. Behind it sits a printed copy of the official tutor-marked assignment paper for that code and session, so the counter clerk can lay question against answer without opening a laptop. No soft copy or PDF is sold. Nothing is emailed, nothing is scanned to you, and there is no download link — the paper itself is the product.

Margins run wide enough on the left for the study centre’s punch and on the right for an evaluator’s marks. Answers begin on a fresh sheet per question so that a counsellor writing comments has somewhere to put them. One writer handles all the codes in a single order, which is what keeps the hand consistent from MRD-201 through to MRDE-004.

Where ₹320 a Subject Starts and Stops

The rate is ₹320 per subject, hard copy only, with courier included in that price and no separate shipping charge. A subject means one course code for one session. MRD-201 is a subject. MRD-004 is a subject. A first-year MARD learner ordering all four compulsory codes is ordering four subjects.

Inside that figure sit the writing itself, the paper and ink, the free IGNOU-format front page, the printed question paper and the courier to your address. Outside it sit nothing much, because there is nothing much to add: there is no minimum order: one subject or fourteen, same rate. A learner who has been carrying one unfinished MRDE-002 since an old cycle pays ₹320 and no surcharge for the awkwardness of it.

What the price cannot buy is a promise about the outcome. No claim is made about the marks any assignment will receive, about how an evaluator will assess it, or about whether it will be accepted. Assignment evaluation is entirely a matter for IGNOU. Any seller quoting you a grade for a MARD paper is quoting you something they do not control. Delivery depends on your pin code and is confirmed for your order before you pay. No figure is promised on this page.

Reference PDF or Submittable Hard Copy: Telling the Two Apart

These two things get bought interchangeably by MARD learners and they are not interchangeable at all. A solved assignment is a soft-copy reference file of model answers for a course code and session — you read it, you understand the shape of the answer, and then you write your own. A handwritten assignment is the answers written out by hand on A4 and submitted in hard copy at the study centre. One is study material. The other is the thing that crosses the counter.

IGNOU’s own SOCE booklet for the rural development papers settles the argument in a single line. The PGDRD paper for MRD-203 prints, under the submission schedule, the instruction that the assignment must be submitted in handwritten form only. That sentence is on the university’s document, not on a seller’s page, and it is why a printed-out PDF is not a submission however good the answers inside it are.

The two products answer different problems, and a learner who buys the wrong one loses either a week of writing or the price of a file they will not use.

The Four MRD Codes Every MARD Learner Writes

MARD is a 66-credit programme and the first year is fixed: four taught courses of six credits each, plus a twelve-credit dissertation that is not a tutor-marked assignment at all. The codes below are read off the Common Prospectus July 2026 course table for Master of Arts (Rural Development), and the credit column adds to the total the same document prints.

Notice what that table is quietly telling you about the code numbering. Three of the four compulsory courses carry the revised 200-series numbers while MRD 004 has kept its original three-digit form, so one prospectus table holds two generations of numbering side by side. That is not an error on this page and it is not an error in the prospectus — it is the residue of a syllabus revision that renumbered some courses and left others alone, and it is why learners who started earlier still write MRD-101, MRD-102 and MRD-103 on forum posts and get told those codes no longer exist.

MRDP 1 is the one line in the table this order does not touch. A twelve-credit dissertation built on field work in a rural area is not something anyone should be writing out for you, and the dissertation is handled on its own hard-copy page under a completely different process. The same three MRD titles also appear in the certificate programme, which is why the CRD certificate shares the same three MRD titles in its own eighteen-credit table.

Choosing Five MRDE Electives From a Bank of Six

The second year is where two MARD learners stop looking alike. The prospectus prints six optional courses and asks you to complete any five of them. Five times six credits is thirty, which added to the first year’s twenty-four taught credits and the dissertation’s twelve gives the sixty-six the programme requires. Every MARD learner therefore drops exactly one elective, and which one they drop is a private decision made at re-registration.

The practical consequence for an order is that nobody here can guess your five. A learner naming “MARD second year” has named nothing that can be written against, because the six-course bank produces six different valid five-course sets. Read the codes off your re-registration record or your admission confirmation and send those, not the year. This is also the reason the store keeps MARD help books written against the revised MRD syllabus code by code rather than as year bundles.

Four IGNOU Documents, Four Versions of the Same MARD Facts

Preparing this page meant reading the Common Prospectus July 2026 against two live assignment booklets on ignou.ac.in. They do not agree with each other, and a MARD learner who has been confused by that is not being careless. Here is every disagreement found, including the ones on this store.

31 March and 30 September: What SOCE Actually Prints

Submission dates at IGNOU are set per school, not per university, and this is where MARD learners get caught. Both booklets read for this page print the same pair. The MARD first-year booklet gives 31 March for a July session and 30 September for a January session. The PGDRD booklet from the same discipline, a cycle later, gives 31 March and 30 September again, against its own year pair. That is the School of Continuing Education pattern and it holds across the rural development papers.

The 31 October and 30 April dates that circulate widely belong to the School of Management Studies. They are correct — for MBA and MCOM learners. Carrying them across to a MARD paper buys you seven months of imaginary time. Aggregator sites also circulate 31 May and 15 June for various cycles, usually because they are quoting an extension notification rather than a printed deadline.

Extensions are real and they do happen. IGNOU has more than once pushed a term-end submission window back by notification after the booklets were printed, and when it does, the new date supersedes the one on your paper. The safe procedure is to treat the printed date as your working deadline, write to it, and check IGNOU’s own assignment download service for the current position rather than a third-party calendar. That page also carries the university’s own advice to check an assignment’s validity before downloading it, which matters because papers expire and are replaced every cycle.

Decoding AST and the TMA Number on Your Paper

Every MARD assignment carries an identifier that looks like MRD-201/AST/TMA-1/2024-2025, and each of its four segments does a job. The first is your course code. The second, AST, is the segment that surprises people who have seen other IGNOU programmes — management papers print no such segment, and it is one of the markers that tells you the paper in front of you belongs to the rural development discipline. The third is the assignment’s position in the programme’s paper set, which is why it is TMA-1 and not TMA for MRD-201. The fourth is a two-year span rather than a single year with a session name, so a July 2024 and a January 2025 learner both write 2024-2025.

The sequential numbering is worth a second look because it is the source of a common study-group argument. TMA numbers count across the programme’s papers rather than restarting per course, so MARD runs TMA-1 through TMA-4 for its four compulsory codes while PGDRD runs TMA-1 through TMA-6 across three compulsory and three elective codes. Two learners with the same TMA-4 in front of them can therefore be holding entirely different papers.

Copy the identifier onto your cover sheet exactly as the booklet prints it, hyphens and all. A code copied from last year’s paper with the year span left unchanged is the single most common reason a correct set gets queried at the counter. When an order is placed here, the identifier is read off the paper for your session and written onto the front page rather than assumed.

Your Own Handwriting, Copied From a Photo You Send

Send a photo of a page you have written yourself and the handwritten set is matched to your handwriting at no extra charge. This is the step that most changes what arrives, and it costs nothing and happens before payment. A writer is picked whose natural hand sits closest to yours, a specimen line is written and photographed back to you, and only when you say it looks right does anything else begin.

What Makes a Usable Sample Photo

Half a page of ordinary running writing is more useful than a carefully lettered paragraph, because the point is to capture how you write when you are not thinking about it. Shoot it flat in daylight with the whole sheet in frame rather than cropped to a few lines, and include something with numerals and a capital letter or two — an address, a date, a course code — since digits and capitals are where hands differ most. A photograph of a page from a notebook you already own works better than anything written specially.

If your handwriting has changed since an old backlog paper was set, send the current one. The set is matched to the hand you write with now, not to a specimen from the year the course was first attempted.

English, Hindi, Old Cycles and Unfinished Years

MARD is taught in English and Hindi, and the service covers all mediums IGNOU issues the TMA paper in, at the same price. A Hindi-medium MRD-202 set costs ₹320 exactly as an English one does. Learners who have hunted for a Hindi paper while an English one sat on the portal will recognise the frustration; the position taken here is that whichever medium IGNOU has issued for your code and session is the medium you get written, and if only one medium exists for a code that is a fact about IGNOU’s release schedule rather than about this service.

One thing worth knowing before you order in Hindi: the Hindi-medium paper transliterates the assignment identifier into Devanagari, so the code that reads MRD-202/AST/TMA-2/2025-2026 on the English paper appears in Devanagari characters on the Hindi one. Both are the same identifier. Copy whichever form your own paper prints.

Any session is accepted, current cycle or older, including backlog courses, at the same ₹320 per subject. A learner who cleared three of four first-year codes in an old cycle and left MRD-004 hanging is exactly the case this covers, as is somebody re-registered after a gap who now needs a mixture of revised 200-series codes and an original-numbering elective in the same order. Send the codes and the session as they appear on your record and the correct paper for that pairing is used. Ask about an older cycle before ordering if you are unsure which session your code belongs to.

The Short List of Things to Message

Ordering takes one message. Everything below is on your admission record or your assignment paper, and nothing beyond it is needed.

• Your course codes, written out individually — MRD-201, MRDE-003 and so on, not “first year” or “second year”.
• The session your paper belongs to, as the two-year span printed on it.
• Your medium, English or Hindi.
• A photo of half a page in your own handwriting.
• The delivery address with its pin code.

Your enrolment number, name, study centre and regional centre are needed only for the front page, and they can follow once the codes are confirmed. Nobody here needs your IGNOU portal password, your date of birth or your exam form details, and you should be wary of any seller who asks for them.

Once the Parcel Is in Your Hands

Open it and read it before you do anything else. You sign the declaration on the assignment cover page, so you should read and review the content before submitting it, and satisfy yourself that it represents your own understanding of the course. That is not a formality on a rural development paper, where a long answer on watershed management or panchayat-level planning may draw on examples you would rather change.

Then fill the cover sheet fields that were left for you, check that the course code and the two-year span on the front page match the paper stapled behind it, and take the bundles to your study centre coordinator as separate documents per course. Ask for a receipt or an acknowledgement and photograph it. If your regional centre is running an online submission window instead, scan each course as its own single file rather than merging them.

Marks appear on the grade card rather than coming back to you directly, and they usually lag the term-end result by some weeks. If a MARD code still shows no assignment record close to your examination, the submission receipt is what resolves it, which is the whole reason for photographing it on the day.

What MARD Learners Add to the Same Order

Handwritten sets rarely travel alone. Learners preparing for the June or December sitting usually pick up rural development guess papers for the term-end paper at the same time, and those working through past patterns look for past MRD question papers going back several June and December sittings, which is the fastest way to see how a short note on the National Rural Livelihoods Mission actually gets asked.

Learners arriving in MARD by credit transfer from the diploma often still need the paper they left behind, and PGDRD learners moving up on credit transfer have their own listing for the codes that do not transfer. Those enrolled in the online-mode variant should know that online-mode learners have a separate MARDOL project route, though the taught codes and the handwriting requirement are the same.

What Rural Development Learners Ask Before Paying

My old marksheet says MRD-101, MRD-102 and MRD-103. Do those codes still exist?

Not in the current prospectus, which lists MRD 201, MRD 202 and MRD 203 for the same three subjects. The revision renumbered them into the 200-series while leaving MRD 004 alone. If your record still carries the old numbers, send the numbers as your record prints them along with the session, and the paper actually issued for that pairing is used rather than an assumed equivalent.

I am in MARD second year. Which five of the six MRDE codes should I order?

Whichever five you re-registered for — that choice is yours and it is not recorded anywhere this desk can see. Six electives with any five to be completed means six valid combinations exist, so “second year” cannot be written against. Open your re-registration confirmation, read the five codes off it, and send those.

Is MRDP 1 an assignment I can order here?

No. MRDP 1 is a twelve-credit dissertation built on field work in a rural area, not a tutor-marked assignment, and it is not something anyone should be handwriting on your behalf. It runs through a separate hard-copy process with a supervisor and a synopsis stage.

Hindi medium ka MARD assignment milega — is the Hindi paper covered at the same price?

Yes. The service covers all mediums IGNOU issues the TMA paper in, at the same price. Note that the Hindi paper prints the assignment identifier in Devanagari transliteration, so it looks unlike the English form even though it is the same code. If IGNOU has released only the English paper for a code and session, that is what exists to write from.

My MARD paper says AST. What does that stand for?

It is the assessment segment of the identifier, and it sits between the course code and the TMA number in the rural development papers — MRD-201/AST/TMA-1/2024-2025. Management-school papers do not print it, which is why learners comparing notes across programmes think one of the two papers is wrong. Neither is.

My friend in PGDRD also has a TMA-4. Which of us has the wrong paper?

Neither. TMA numbers run in sequence across a programme’s own paper set, so TMA-4 is MRD-004 in MARD and MRDE-201 in PGDRD. Always quote the course code alongside the TMA number, because the number on its own identifies nothing.

Can I print the MARD solved assignment PDF and hand that in?

No. The SOCE booklet for the rural development papers states that the assignment must be submitted in handwritten form only, and study centres do turn away printed sets. A solved assignment is a reference to write from, not a submission.

What is the actual difference between the MARD solved assignment and this?

A solved assignment is a soft-copy reference file of model answers for a course code and session. A handwritten assignment is the answers written out by hand on A4 and submitted in hard copy at the study centre. The first saves you research, the second saves you the writing. This page sells only the second.

Is a typed and printed MARD assignment ever accepted?

Treat it as not accepted. IGNOU’s guidance to learners names typed or printed submissions as a rejection-causing error and the rural development booklet says handwritten only. Some regional centres run online submission windows, but those still ask for a scan of handwritten sheets rather than a typed file.

I already own the MARD solved assignment PDFs. Is a handwritten set still worth it?

That depends on how many codes you are carrying and how much writing time you have. A first-year MARD learner with four papers is looking at four long answers, eight medium answers and twenty short notes in longhand. If the research is already done and the hours are not there, the handwritten set is what closes the gap.

Isn’t the MARD assignment deadline 31 October?

That is the School of Management Studies date. MARD sits with the School of Continuing Education, whose booklets print 31 March for a July session and 30 September for a January session. Extensions are announced by notification from time to time and supersede the printed date, so check ignou.ac.in close to your submission.

I have a backlog MRD-004 from an old session. Can that still be written?

Yes. Any session is accepted, current cycle or older, including backlog courses, at the same ₹320 per subject. Send the code with the session it belongs to, because the questions on a 2019 paper are not the questions on the current one and the right paper has to be matched to the year.

I am enrolled in MARDOL, the online-mode version. Does this page apply?

The taught codes are the same and the handwriting requirement is the same — online-mode learners are still asked to hand-write assignments. Send your codes exactly as your MARDOL record prints them, since the assignment index treats the two modes together but your regional centre’s submission route may differ.

Does ₹320 include the courier and the front page, or are those extra?

Both are inside it. The rate is ₹320 per subject, hard copy only, with courier included in that price and no separate shipping charge, and the IGNOU-format front page comes free with every order along with a printed copy of the official question paper.

Can I order just one MRDE paper rather than a full year?

Yes. There is no minimum order: one subject or fourteen, same rate. A single elective is an ordinary order, not an exception, and it costs the same per subject as a set of nine.

Which Document Each Fact on This Page Came From

From the IGNOU Common Prospectus July 2026. The MARD course table, section 3.29, supplied every course code, official title and credit figure on this page, along with the 66-credit total, the choose-any-five elective rule, the English and Hindi media and the two-year duration. The credit column was added and checked against the printed total before the tables above were built: four compulsory taught courses at six credits, five electives at six credits and a twelve-credit dissertation come to sixty-six.
